It just doesn't make much sense to pay $15M for two guys who share the position (Taylor and Canty). I'd much rather pay Canty $7M to play DT on three downs and let Taylor attack the gaps at DE on every down and get a good OLB in the draft than pay Canty $7M for first and second downs, Taylor $8.5M for third downs and still have a hole at DT.

I think you guys want Taylor to be a situational pass-rusher only

I don't know, I think the Skins may be thinking of putting him full-time at DT. I know the report doesn't say that but JLC is known to speculate quite a bit. If he plays at DT, I think that'll be right where he should be.

I agree with you. I mean the two big free agents we hearing rumbling out of the Skins camp about are both 300lbs. Both fit the DT mold of a 4-3 rather than a DE mold. The fact that they said DE is probably those guys just being mediots.
