It's beyond idiotic of Skip that he dares to utter such superficial garbage for public access.

He's without an ounce of any realistic notion of what a real human being should be about.

He's still living in the days of many decades ago, when concepts of manhood were a joke.

I've always figured Skip Bayless to be a hapless jerk but he just brought it to another level.

I cannot imagine the pain of losing that many friends. You have my sincere sympathy and appreciation for tbe service/sacrifice even though it pales in comparison to the loss.

I used to not mind Skip and his theatrics. They were quite funny to watch, honestly (all sports shows on ESPN such as First Take and First things First as well) are guilty of this. However, this crosses the line. How dare Skip dismiss something that needs to be way more important than it already is in the world, especially for a man, who can’t show his emotions/say when he has depression or anxiety without being labeled as a “wuss” or “not a man”, or that he needs to quote on quote “push through it”. This world could be a much better place if we focused on mental illness instead of dismissing it. As a person who’s experienced depression and anxiety (and still am), I’m highly disappointed in Skip (a man with a huge platform that could’ve used Dak’s potential depression, into an advocacy to help not only football players in the league who are going through the same thing as Dak, but everyone who suffers from it). What a shame.

all in all, I hope Dak gets better. I know many of us here disagree on him, his contract, and his play, but I think (and hope) we can all agree that he’s quite a cool dude overall and I truly hope he gets some help. Depression is no joke. I hope he gets all the support he needs!!

Honestly, it's one thing to criticize the guy because of his play on the field (I do it all the time), but I don't know how you criticize him as a PERSON, especially if he's going through very real struggles like a lot of Americans are. For all intents and purposes, the guy is the PERFECT face of a franchise off the field.

I have severe episodes of depression certain times of year and its bad. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The thing is, people really don't care if you have it or not. I miss work and know that people talk but when im sick im just immobile and scared. I have some pretty bad thoughts too. I've went through many, many antidepressants and the one im on now is working really well. I hope it continues. Many people see is as a weakness and skip may be the same way.........

Skip doesn't usually bother me, even when he is spouting off nonsense, but this was extremely dumb and insensitive.

Listeners need to just flip the switch and turn off Skip Bayless. Skip needs to do a favor to the few listeners he still has and just retire to a Cabin off the grid somewhere. No one will ever miss his drivel.

I’m glad you found medication that’s helping you. Taking steps to take care of yourself when dealing with mental health issues can be very difficult. Being able to recognize it and taking steps to make it better is a strength not a weakness. Best of luck!

As someone who has worked in the mental health industry for over 20 years, people who don't what they're talking about would do well to shut up.

Skip just sounds like a moron. He's not alone, either.

People overdo the whole "leader of the team" business for a QB. Does he lead the defense? Does a QB even necessarily lead the offense? He *directs* the offense. Doesn't mean he's the emotional leader the team looks up to. Doesn't mean he has to have no personal issues.

Having said that, by all accounts Dak *is* a great leader. RKG through and through. If Dak were seen as a weak leader, this might hurt his image with the team. But because he is seen as strong, admitting some weakness probably only further cements his leadership position on the team. He's not a machine. He has things to overcome too. And he has.

There are probably some people who respect Dak less for having depression. Most probably respect him more for how he faces it, and how he's open and honest about it. The former are known as children, the latter are known as adults.

Oh, and Skip is being an asshat.
