This gets me kind of excited. Let's go Dak!
On down the road to the bank.
You should make a blues song about Cowboys fans and their quarter century plight and yet they're still here.
Taking the punches.
Getting dragged down the road.
Hearing the old man's sales job.
Heavy the load.
Light at the tunnel!
Just a railroad.
Why are we here?
Nowhere to go.
Make a decent bridge, imo.
I just like Jane Slater. Take or no take.
Sounds like he continues to make sound business decisions for himself.
France probably is asking for the use of Jerry’s yacht as park of the deal too......
If you want to win a super bowl you make the bold move for Wilson. Can't believe he won 12 games last year with that team.
At what cost?
Well theres gotta be away that you could do a sign and trade or something to that effect to add Dak into the deal. If you could add Dak in or make it known that he's part of the deal then I wouldn't be opposed to giving up 2 firsts and a 3rd or two down the road on top of Dak. The first this yr would hurt cause it's the tenth pick but every pick after that would probably be in the 30s so I really don't care if we miss out on a Taco next yr and the two 3s would be so late it would be like a conditional 3rd which well prob pickup for loosing Byron Jones anyways.
I don't like it. I think it's a treading water move and I don't think Seattle settles for that deal, given the cap hit they'll take from trading him and the cap hit from Dak, but whatever keeps you in Dreamland...
Did you really think this thing through?
No but just when you think these deals could never happen they happen. Stafford, Wentz, Hopkins etc.
What about us guys who like Dak, and like Jane, and don’t really care if they pay him or not,
but realize it might not be a good idea to pay him 40 million.
Right on. I do get that and you're right, but:
Seattle gets a monster, and I do mean monster cap hit from trading Russ.
And then they're going to get a monster cap hit from Dak.
It's just not feasible.
Picks they want.
Total team destroying cap hits that will completely transform everything they have to accommodate, they do not want.
Especially this coming year.
Nothing wrong with that. It’s the guys who have crapped on him from day 1, every thread, every post and every day that I have a problem with.
Didn’t think it warranted a brand-new thread but I just saw this from the DMN... nothing Earth-shattering.
With the deadline for the Cowboys to place the franchise tag on quarterback Dak Prescott a week away, multiple sources said Tuesday night talks for a new contract are progressing. One source characterized discussions as, “more productive than they have been,” in previous months.
Yep, that's about right...
Let me just say this is one of the weirdest negotiations that's ever happened in Dallas. None of this really makes any sense. None of it.
This is probably the best argument I've seen for not paying dak.
There is a difference between not wanting to pay Dak bc you can't build around him and not wanting to pay Dak bc the Jones' aren't good enough to build around him
My best guess: this is Stephen’s show now.
As in, this is the first BIG contract that he’s 100% responsible for, with zero input from his old man. Jerry’s finally passing the torch.
We’ve always heard about how Stephen is naturally more frugal than Jerry, and now we’re living that truth.
