I haven't really followed this draft class at all.. Outside of the marquee names I don't know anything. This draft just hasn't pulled me in like the Ndamukong Suh draft did.

If you are a Cowboy fan this draft should pull you in.. Most important piece of our offseason this year by far.

Is it because our biggest needs are not really "sexy" positions like past seasons? Most o our huge needs at OL and DL and most people don't like to get super excited over a guard. Personally if we take a guard round one ill jump for joy

then you have not paid attention to this site, as xwalker, myself, and several others have posted several names in the draft zone in various threads.

Courtney Gardener is an interesting guy. The OU coaches really thought they were getting a TO type guy. But the guy could never ever pass his math requirement. He was rated just behind Cordarrelle Patterson in juco. Juco film is tough to translate to the nfl but he did look freaky good in it. He was quick in and out of breaks and excellent after the catch.

Princeton DE Mike Catapano
One of the most interesting guys in this draft, I expect he will be drafted too.

Stole this off another MB

Mike Catapano 6'4" and a "lean" 275 lbs runs a 4.65 40 (with a 7 foot wingspan to boot) and has had a MONSTER senior season with 12 sacks, 15.5 TFL, 3 FF and 6 passes batted down in only 10 games!

Catapano is 2012 Bushnell Cup Winner for Ivy League Defensive Player Of The Year...and a SUPER athlete, especially for his size! If you are unfamiliar with him or haven't looked closely enough check out Catapano who has an invite to the East West Shrine Game on Jan 19th in Fla.

Catapano trains year round doing MMA training and this past off season worked with NFL All Pro Chuck Smith at his pass rushing training center in Georgia....Smith who trained Osi Unenyiora and other great NFL pass rushers says Catapano will take a backseat to NOBODY in this year's draft...HUGE sleeper!
from his twitter account:
Chuck Smith NFL @chucksmithnfl.
I've trained a lot of great Dl/LB/OLB, Mike Catapano wont take a back seat to anyone in this years Draft! He will be special!

Catapano's coach at Princeton Bob Surace compared him to NFL All Pro Justin Smith whom he coached while with the Cincinnati Bengals...high praise indeed. Look for Catapano to turn heads at the East West Shrine Game and continue to quickly rise up the draft boards. Future NFL star here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GcdKCG5F8Q

One of the bloggers didnt think Catapano was a good fit for MK's D. On the other hand, Egirls, Jets and Bucs are supposedly all over him.

I'm not sure about that. He is 6-4 271 pounds at his Pro Day and you could reasonably expect him to put on another 10-15 once he converts to year-round training and puts down the books. He is intriguing (numbers from Pro Day):

40 yard dash: 4.75
short shuttle: 4.33
3-cone drill: 7.09
bench: 33 reps
vertical: 37.5 inches
Broad jump: 9-8

He sounds like a prototypical LDE to me with his size and strength and still has some speed and agility for the pass rush. He had 12 sacks last year. He sounds pretty good to me.

The other guy who caught my attention a bit was David Bass from Southwest Missouri. He is about 6-4 and 262 pounds. These numbers are from the Combine.

40 yard dash: 4.74 secs
vertical jump: 30.5 inches
Broad jump: 9-3
Bench press: 20 reps
short shuttle: 4.33 secs
3-cone drill: 7.09 secs

He is another one of these guys who comes from a small school but was highly productive and then went on to show well at some of the post-season all-star games. He sounds like he could be a good guy to play behind Ware and add to the DE rotation. He has a 5th round projection right now.
