If Jones isn't resigned, I'd take a run a Huggie Bear Jr.. Extremely productive splitting carries and one of the faster backs available.

We most likely wont land either one of them but I would love to see Nnamdi Asomugha or Asante Samuel lining up opposite of Newman. With the NFL being geared more and more towards the pass, we need 2 good corners to compliment the front 7.

My dream scenario would be: Resign Flo and Crayton. Trade a #1 and next year's #2 for Fitzgerald. Sign Nnamdi Asomugha. Draft Ray Rice in the first and Dre Moore in the second.

I know it's a slim field in FA next year, but if we take care of our own we woundn't need to much.

I think you guys are dreaming if you think Turner's going to be wearing the Star next season...unless you are ready to see JJ & MB3 gone! I just cannot see him coming to Big D to split carries when he'll have starting, full-time job offers on the table. I cannot see Jerry spending big $$$ on another CB either w/ Henry getting paid and T-New needing to be extended-not to mention Hamlin and possibly Reeves getting re-signed...just doesn't seem financially feasible (or smart). I see us focusing on 2nd-tier FAs (like T. Bell, B. Johnson, etc), signing most of our own to deals, and finding quality youth in the draft.

If we have $26 million to spend next year on rookies, our free agents, outsiders, how do you spend it?

Why trade with the Cardinals for Fitz when their speedster, Bryant Johnson, is a free agent to be?

He was a first round selection in 2003 only to have Anquan Boldin, a third rounder that year, burst onto the scene as a rookie and then Denny green added Larry Fitzgerald the following April.

Where are you getting that Bryant Johnson is the Cardinals' speed guy? I thought Johnson, Fitzgerald and Bouldin all ran comparable 40 times in the 4.5 to 4.6 range.

Keep in mind that there will be some cuts as well. For example, Clinton Portis will be cut and I would not mind signing him to split duty with MBIII.

I don't know if he is extremely productive. He is doing well this season, but really had not done too much the previous 4 seasons. He has 4 career TDs in almost 5 full seasons, which is not too good. He only has 4 fumbles in that time, which is good. He is very similar to Tyson Thompson except he apparently protect the ball a little better. I think Dallas could get a better back in the draft even if it is not a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Unless there is a trade to be had for Boldin, I am hoping that we take care of our own Free Agents and build through the Draft this year. We are actually pretty stocked at the starting positions when everyone is healthy and I think that Pat Watkins may be ready to push for a starting job in 2008.

Andre Davis from the Texans has been solid all year and is a deep threat and picked up some of the slack when Andre went down

Amunte Samuel but how much $$ is he going to cost

If you look at his YPC (4.3 for his career) playing behind an abomination of an OL, I'd probably consider that extremely productive. That franchise has been a trainwreck and at times he looks like the only decent player they have.

I think I'd agree that he's a better Thompson but I don't view that in a negative way.

First thing is lock up all free agents long term. Then go after other free agents.

I agree with the poster who recommended Tatum Bell. He'll be dirt cheap and would be the perfect change of pace back for MBIII. He's quick in the hole and breaks a lot of long runs. He can't handle a heavy play load, but would excel with 8 - 10 carries a game.

Then if we find some excellent value in the draft, we can take an RB, but we aren't forced to.

Rock Cartwright would be my choice.. 3rd string RB and a hell of a Kick returner.
