Our greatest asset this offseason is that 4th overall pick.
Let's say we already signed Hardy or were in discussions in doing so?
That would be a clear indication that we were not going to be going DE (Bosa) with that pick.
OK, so let's say that we restructured Carr and signed Patrick Robinson.
We were looking at Weddle and Leon Hall and decided we were not going to pay that for either of their services, so we let him walk. Is safety that important to us then since we have Byron Jones? I would think not.
That would cool on Ramsey and Hargreaves, other teams could easily think.
Even an Alfred Morris signing would suggest a RB in the later rounds and therefore no Zeke at #4.
But we're looking at all of those prospects and supposedly bargain FA's. Too add to it, really no FA backup QB's, but we just keep bringing this Dak Prescott in who just got nailed with a DUI.
So that leave's the likelihood of Myles Jack or ooooooh, 1 of the 2 QB's in the 1st round of the draft.
But Jerry intimates that we're not going QB at #4 and Rosenhaus is saying Jerry said we have not had any discussions regarding Hardy and will not divulge our team interests. In all actuality it was Stephen Jones making that statement, so Rosenhaus is not exactly lying and nor is Jerry. Purposeful confusion being created?
Now, I'm really starting to believe we're waiting for the draft to finalize and then we will sign these FA's who probably already have a wink and shake deal with us, but will be patient to sign the deals so we do not show our hand in a draft that we are looking to get either of those QB's for our future.
So, to sum it all up. I'm starting to believe we will end up with this personnel wise after the draft has finalized:
We draft either Goff or Wentz in round 1
Brandon Carr restructured
Patrick Robinson and/or Leon Hall (who may be converted to safety) signed
Greg Hardy re-signed
Alfred Morris signed, if we don't draft a RB round 2-3 and he's still available.
Please chime in!!!!
