So-Called Eagles Curse!?! -- Trick or Treat?

Thought I'd re-open an issue that so many fans seem to believe. The fact that the Eagles have come increasingly closer to the "ring" each year means absolutely nothing to some fans. This so-called curse is based on the "choke factor" or the Eagles not being able to win the NFC championship. Ironically, the exact same concept that didn't interfere with the Red Sox winning the World Series!

But what is a curse anyway? Curse, whammy, hex, or voodoo spell. The expression of a wish that misfortune, evil, doom, etc., befall a person, group, etc. To invoke evil, calamity, injury, or destruction upon through some type of evil suggestion or ceremony.

To bring up, call down, conjure, conjure up, invoke, call forth, put forward, arouse, evoke, stir, raise - evoke or call forth, with or as if by magic; "raise the specter of unemployment"; "he conjured wild birds in the air"; "stir a disturbance"; "call down the spirits from the mountain"

If you believe in curses, you may want to start looking at your own team(s).

Eagle fans do Not beleive in curses -- in fact we believe that three (perhaps 4 consecutive trips to the NFC Championship is a good thing. Sure, winning the NFC Championship is a better "good thing," but Eagle faNs are definitely convinced that a "curse" never existed!

Besides, How can a 6-0 start be anything but ...

the eagles are far from perfect, don't get too cocky.. if i remember correctly, didn't the vikings go 6-0 last year? how'd they do in the playoffs on a more serious note, the eagles do look good, but they like every other team have their flaws, the eagles came pretty close to losing to the browns last week.. and the eagles should have manhandled them... wether it was the eagles just underestimating the browns or the browns actually being a good enough team to take down the eagles isn't the point... the eagles still let it come pretty close to happening.. i think brian westbrook being down will hurt them, cuase he's done some tricky **** on the field

People have said the Eagles are chokers,which to this point is true.

If you are saying that the Eagles fans dont believe in a curse, then comparing the Eagles to the Red Sox is laughable. The Red Sox fans are the ones who started the talk of a curse and have lived it until this week.

I think what you are saying is that you actually may believe in a curse, and want to make sure that other people dont see it that way, so you can convince yourself otherwise. Fact is the Eagles are chokers almost to the level of the Bills. Just on a different stage. The only thing I hear about week after week in Eagles games is how they have been to 3 straight NFCCG, even the media is not bashing the Eagles for not winning.

You seem to be forget that last year the Vikings started off 6-0 and didnt manage to make the playoffs. To say that your headed on a sure path towards victory is completely ridicolous. And i have never heard anyone say that the Eagles are cursed, i however have heard that they choke. Besides the Eagles have chocked at the NFC championship three times in a row, whose to say they wont do it again.
