So do we have a homefield advantage now?

For anybody that's seen a game in the new stadium:

Is it anything like Texas Stadium or can you really lift the roof off the place with noise? It sounds loud on TV but its hard to tell in preseason. I thought the old stadium got a bad wrap sometimes as a museum because it could get really loud in there on occasion, but I'm hoping with the possibility of 115,000 with the party pass (what Jerry said before the SF game) we can be the loudest stadium in the league.

Anybody know?

I havent been there YET, but watching on TV last night the crowd seemed to get the loudest when "Sweet Home Alabama" was played over the speakers.

espn said 70,000 people showed up and it sounded like fans at a golf tourny. i'll wait till week 2 but doubt it will be any different than Texas Stadium.

I went to the new stadium for a soccer match involving Mexico. It got pretty loud. I am guessing it was a function of the fanbase, not the stadium.

The only time I heard Texas Stadium get really loud was when we played the Colts in 2006 (I think that was the year). I had season tickets to the boys from 96 - 06, and they never compared to the UT games I went to from 03 - 05 (except for that Colts game).

What that tells me is that in a big playoff game in which the team is playing to or exceeding expectation, the crowd can get loud. Otherwise, they are fairly docile.

I was at that Colts game and my ears were ringing for days after. I can't imagine there's been a louder game at that stadium ever. I don't know why it can't get like that more often. Most of the Cowboys fans I know can get extremely rowdy.

You'd think just by sheer numbers that we could generate some serious noise.

I was at the game yesterday and the silence pissed me off.
I was yelling on third down every time SF got ready to snap the ball.
Everyone around me looked at me like I was a weirdo or something...
For a few drives is was dead silent.
As a fanbase, this really needs to change.
A lot of the stupid defensive giveaways could have been prevented with some noise...

It could be if fans figured out when to cheer and when not to. Columbo's false start at the goal-line was due to the noise because fans for some reason have to cheer when we are going into score.

i was there last night. based on the noise level at the introductions and when we scored the td, i would say it's gonna be a very tough place to play for visitors. granted, most of the game was pretty quiet, but it's still pre-season so I don't expect the crowd to be bonkers just yet.
