So, How does our game with Philly change?

I'm not sure how to feel about TO being suspended and out for our game. It's great not to have to worry about TO....he's their only REAL threat at WR.

But I think the Eagles' lockerroom will now be a more relaxing place. I've been on teams with malcontents, and I can tell you first-hand how not having them on the team anymore can clear tension away immediately. Teams can relax more, and a "freshness" appears. The game is fun again.

So, how can this affect our game with the Eagles?

Talentwise, they're weaker...much weaker than when we played them earlier. But their team chemistry will immediately improve. They will no longer have the dark cloud of TO hanging over their head. I can see them playing harder, with more purpose, to prove a point.

I think we may be in for a dogfight next Monday. Conventional wisdom says we should destroy them......and we SHOULD....but strange things can happen with circumstances like these.

What does everyone think?

I think Reggie Brown looked like a good WR and I also thought McNabb is starting to become a bit more mobile than he has in recent games. All the focus has been on the eagle’s offense but frankly they are a team who has thrived because of their defense and that defense is having some problems. As for our game I see Philly as a wounded animal and I think Dallas better be focused on this game and not get caught up in the media hoopla over TO.

Too true....

Also, Philly's at home, on a Monday Night, staring THREE straight losses in the face.

You, know.....It seems nearly every year, something happens that seems to "rally" the birds.

A couple of years ago, it was McNabb getting injured
Two years ago, it was injuries to McNabb, Vincent, Taylor, and Dawkins
Last year it was Owens getting injured

These events seemed to toughen the Eagles.....I hope this isn't a "rallying" point.

We cant take them lightly. We demolished them not to long ago, they will be seeking revenge, in addition they no one more loss and the season is done. The e-girls may be down, but all it takes is seeing the dallas cowboys and that star, and that will get the juices flowing again. This will be a tough game. philty's defense will have a chip on their shoulder especially believe that. I'VE ALWAYS SAID THE -E-GIRLS seem to play dallas twice as hard.

Nothing, Dallas is not good enough to overlook any team in the league. If Dallas relax thinking they can just show up, then Philly will lay the smack down on the boys.

I hope it doesn't change the game plan at all...We should prepare for the worst and I'm sure Parcells will do just that. I doubt he'll want to lose another division game, let alone on Monday night. McNabb will definitely look to move around and out of the pocket to make plays since TO is out...that was one of the reasons we lost the second game against Phily last year when we had them beat. McNabb started running and we lost.

I think it will be a tough game, Monday night, in Philly, mcnabb getting better......we will have to play very well in oreder to beat them, they wont be a demoralized team that many think they will, Andy Reid wont let that happen, I think it'll be tough, but we can win if we play sharp/smart football.

Dallas basically lost to the Eagles last season without T.O. His only catch in that game in Philly is the one where he was injured.

Dallas just needs to do what they did in the first meeting. Use the same game plan and schemes. The keys will be to just execute. The first meeting showed that perfect execution resulted in a dominate win. Shoot for that perfect execution and the results may not be as dominate, but the end result may still be a win.

One thing that is different than in the past is that Philly has to be thinking in the back of their mind that Dallas can beat them because they have. It's important to not let them get any momentum during the game so that their self doubt will become reality.

Exactly. There better not be another fumbled snap on the opening drive. Al and Drew should have spent the whole off week working that junk out. (no puns intended, but with this crowd, puns are expected)

MUCH easier said than done though, I'm sure this is every teams hope for every game, but it rarely turns out that way, I know what you mean, but more times than not, you'll have mistakes, and have to fight through them, you just have to hope the other teams makes more mistakes than you. That is why I think we should blitz the heck out of DM, and make him hurry his throws as much as we can, if we can get back their to him on a regular basis, he will get "flinchy" and start making "early reads" to get the ball out quicker.......this is what we need to do to win.......

It will absolutely be a dogfight. Anyone thinking we're gonna stroll into Philly and roll over a solid and desperate Philly team on MNF is only kidding themselves.

Remember we did humiliate this team just a few weeks ago and they'll be looking to return the favor. We're facing a desperate, determined and certainly a more energized team this week on their home field. It's gonna be tough.

Now on paper, it's certainly easier to gameplan and execute defensively now that #81 isn't on the field looming. But you still have to respect the opponent. This will be similar to the game in Seattle in terms of offensive personnel. Just a little different in terms of how they use the RB.

This will be a defensive battle. Throw the stats out of the window. we're going to get Philly's best shot defensively and they still have a lot of good players on that side of the ball. You're not going to like it but expect Parcells to play conservatively often running the ball and limiting the Eagles' blitzing opportunities.

If we limit our turnovers and the defense remains strong, i like our chances to win a game in the teens or perhaps lower.

If you think the players and the brass are taking a game against the Eagles at the Linc lightly, you are fooling yourself. Tensions are high. The team is in the pack for a playoff spot. Jerry and Stephen are in the office early with BP (It sure seems that way, the FO has been brilliant lately. ) Players are rehabbing around the clock. We have no distractions, good team leaders, and an old school coach. I just don't see how this changes anything with the approach or the thinking.

I think this game will be much closer, obviously its an away game, also I really believe in the last game BP thought we needed to be extra aggressive in order to win. Things worked out great in this respect and we jumped on them early and then dominated.
Now BP will try to grind out a road win and will try and pound at them. Now will we see the Philly D that plugged up Tomlinson or the one Denver ran all over? It seems as if teams have finally figured out Philly's defensive blitzes and are blocking the heck out of it. So offensively it may boil down to Tucker and Pettiti doing very well and avoiding the mental mistakes.
Our defense should play closer to the LOS and have its total focus on the backfield, one spy on Westbrook, one on Mcnabb. I feel better going against Mcnabb now because Ware has shown he now plays his outside contain pretty well. Another plus was that Philly tried to run a bit more against the skins and got nothing. Westbrook had I think less than a 2 yard average. That o-line unit of their's may have some good players on it but I don't think they will be able to simply "turn on" its run blocking abilities and then suddenly become a balanced offense. One dimensional offenses are in big trouble against us.
