1. Keith Brooking, a 33-year-old, whom Atlanta saw as a reserve in 2009. Being a Wade admirer, he comes to Dallas.

2. Matt Stewart, didn't even play in 2007. But, hey, he's a playmate of Brooking and Brooking loves Wade. At least he's not old like his girlfriend Brooking.

As for Brooking, one columnist said, Wade now has a lockerroom buddy.:)

3. We lose our most explosive offensive weapon. T.O. Gone. Just gone with a $9 mil cap hit.

Gentlemens no matter how you spin it, it's been a bad number of days.
The ides of march has brought in good-old-boy cronyism and an attitude by Wade that nice guys finish first.
Only the good players finish first and what wade has brought in are tackling dummies.

Jerra, this guy Wade is the devil in disguise and will bring you down really fast iffin you don't watch him.

It could be worse, we could be Eagles fans and have 30 million dollars in cap room and not spend it.

It's quite obvious Wade Phillips is a racist. :)

We ditch Canty, Pacman, Tank, T.O., etc.

And bring in Brooking, Kitna and Stewart.

FIRE HIM NOW!

I'm more encouraged than I thought I would be.

The team looks like it's about football right now - not celebrity.

I am proud that Jerry made the move. I am shocked, didn’t think he had it in him. Brooking was a good move too, the guy is a class-act. I think we need more guys like this. I feel some hope now.

it takes a lot more than being a class act. brooking was a stupid move if that means we lost burnett over it

I like the lack of celebrity stuff.

I don't like the broken-down, aging part.

I don't mind that Kitna is old, and his back thing doesn't scare me much. But I never considered Brooking a possibility here. I assumed he was a guy headed waaay on the downslope. Seemed like Atlanta thought the same, offering him a reserve role. Hopefully we know something they don't.

As for Stewart, I hardly even count him as a free agent signing. I'd be mildly surprised if he's on our opening day roster.

We just got rid of a to-be 36 year old WR, right? :)

True. It's a shame he's the only one in the group that still performs at a moderately acceptable rate. :)

Think twice if you think TO is the most explosive player on this team.

No. Just playmates those three are.

And, it's a shame, but class-acts and lockerroom blowhards don't cut it in the mean world of NFL games.

Power. Athleticism. At top form. Ascending, not descending.

Trust me, when Brooking starts blowing gaps and coverages and gets pushed around by the younger and stronger O linemen, then you'll know the naivette of bringing in these two.

Oh, believe me, I see it now.

Maybe our big plan is to re-sign Burnett and have Brooking as a backup. I dunno. Doesn't strike me as starting material for a team eyeing a playoff run.

I realize he "fits" the scheme better than a small Zach Thomas, but I hardly consider it much of an upgrade to unload an aging small guy for an aging bigger guy of similar diminishing skill.

Completely agree. Pretty sobering actually.

The sobering will be the many games the team fails to score two offensive touchdowns next season unless someone else is brought in.

Disagree. Why do we insist on the offense revolving around TO? We have plenty of other weapons. Yes, those weapons need to be utilized better/correctly and that will obviously fall on the coaching staff. Maybe we'll get someone to fill the bill but it's going to be a role player at best while we truly find out if RW11 can be the #1. I don't get why the majority thinks we're doomed offensively.

Maybe we can win a game 11-10 a la Pittsburgh SD. Wouldn't bother me, a W is a W.
