A. Jones
A. Henry
K. Hamlin
T. Newman
???

That would be kinda "acceptable" IMO.

Am I missing something?

I think the depth chart may look like this.

Newman.......Williams.......Hamlin........Jones
Rookie..........Brown.........Watkins......Henry (Nickel)
Ball...............................................Rookie

I could also see Brown moved back to CB and a rookie SS instead. Quentin Demps or Dominique Barber maybe.

might look like this, much to alot of people's surprise

CB Newman, Jones, Henry
SS Williams
FS rookie

I think the Hamlin thing might get ugly...I cant see them wanting to pay 35-40 mils for him, and I kinda doubt he'll sign the 1yr tender and play for that..if they draft somebody like Phillips or Johnson early and like him in mini-camps into training camp, they might remove the franchise tag on Hamlin...or trade him somewhere for something before removing the tag

Ya, your missing Roy Williams. He isn't going anywhere this year.

Sorry, but I would be dumbfounded if they put an aging A. Henry in a CB spot (be it L or R), in-place-of a 6th-overall pick that we've invested what we have in.

We haven't really invested all that much into PacMan.

I am willing to bet Henry begins as the opening day starter and then at some point during the season Pacman will take his spot over. And Henry will become the Nickel. He wont move to safety.

This year's depth chart:

Newman---------Williams--------Hamlin---------Jones
Rookie (#1)------Rookie (#2)----Brown---------Henry (nickel, Newman goes to the slot)
Ball

Next year's starters:

Newman----------Hamlin----------Brown----------Jones

Rookie (#1) takes the slot

Holy crap....where's Watkins? Dunno, just throw him in there somewhere.

I really think Henry is going to stay on as the starter on the right side, with Newman on the left. For nickel downs Newman will slide to the slot and Pacman will man the Left corner.

Don't underestimate Darren Woodsen's departure a few years ago-not only was a VERY good ball hawk who could cover the entire field, but like the Triplets, he gave this team fire AND leadership.

Since he left, it seemed like not only our secondary, but the fire in our team went down with it.

To answer the above poster's question about Henry...

Saw an interesting stat recently on him-he was actually among TOPS in the league with a 62% UN-successful rating when teams threw his way. Yes-62% UN-successful.

Yeah-he's slow in molasses to the point where if you get a clean release off the LOS against him, he's toast-but it's easier said than done as he's a VERY physical corner who knows how to disrupt the timings of opposing receivers.

I am hoping the depth chart will look something like this after the draft:

LCB: Newman, Cason, Ball
RCB: Jones, Henry, Cason
FS: Phillips, Watkins, Brown
SS: Hamlin, Williams

Adam may wind up starting by years end but I highly doubt that after more than a year without being in a game, or working himself into football shape, that Adam is going to start from day one.
