So was McGee picked to help out w/the Wildcat?

Obviously Romo won't run it: personally I'd like to see Barber taking the snaps and have Jones, Bennett and/or Choice out there with him: who the heck are you going to key on? I do believe it's here to stay and not a gimmick. That's why Tuna took White: to help run the wildcat: Henne can't and won't do it for obvious reasons. It can be SO hard to stop because you can't key on any one threat......just saying....so can McGee help us do this and spread those blitzing defenses in our division OUT so they can't collapse the friggin' pocket every play?

PS: do we have a good enough OLINE to do this with? That's my biggest concern......

fair enough HH31...I just thought while he's apprenticing to play QB he could help out in this capacity, but....it was just a thought. I've never seen the guy play and only caught snippets of his play on ESPN.

I think people say that because he's a good athlete and runs a 4.6, but he passed for a ton of yards in high school. He only ran so much at A&M because that was Franchione's offense -- it seemed like 80% option.

But he's a good passer, he just didn't get to show it in college.

I think he will be the Wildcat QB, he has the measurables and experience to be a running QB.

Just do not think he is the best fit for that spot, not against NFL caliber players. We'll see.

I think he has tremendous upside. Badly misused in A&M's offense. But we will see, he can be the 3rd guy for a few years and see what happens. But I like the pick.

I hope not because we don't need the wildcat.

While I agree that we don't, I do see the Wildcat beng around for a while....it'll peter out eventually...maybe....but I wouldn't have a problem implementing it IF we could run it successfully, but I probably wouldn't want to run it as often as other teams. UNLESS we are good at it. :)

It isn't an either, or in my opinion.

I think Dallas really likes his long term potential to be a real, starting QB. He moves really well, has a big arm, and is completely loaded with all the intangibles that QB coaches are looking for. However, he does have the footspeed, elusiveness, and wiggle that you'd want in a Wildcat QB.

I don't see any reason why we wouldn't put in 2 or 3 plays per game for him in the wildcat, while he is learning to be the backup QB.

We just might make Kitna inactive on gamedays and only bring him in if Romo gets hurt. In other words... have McGee as our backup to Tony on most weeks, but if Tony gets hurt and is out for 3 weeks, then those three weeks would see Kitna as the starter with McGee backing him up.

Not saying that will happen, but it is a possibility.

RBs take the snap in the wildcat, not QBs. The idea is to put the ball in the runner's hands without wasting a blocker to hand it off. The QB spreads out wide and the play goes up the middle or the other way. Felix Jones would be the type of player to run the wildcat for us.
