If they are all truly ranked the same,

DROP DOWN about 5-7 picks, gain a fourth or fifth, and take whoever is left

Always a consideration. We only have money to draft so many picks though. Don't we?

According to Adam, given where we pick, the cap hit to sign all our picks is less than $800,000. (I'm going on memory, but I think this roughly correct.)

The sad thing about the options given, is a CB has better odds of seeing more playing time than any of the above mentioned positions. Why is CB flying so far below the radar as a absolute need for the Cowboys?

Because we (presumably) have our top three cornerbacks already, and we have Alan Ball possibly ready to step into a Nate Jones-type of role as well.

Barring injuries, a fourth cornerback won't see the field a whole lot. But a players such as a starting safety, backup nose tackle or third/fourth wide receiver would.

I don't understand the cap well enough to know. I thought that the rookie money was treated differently although it all has to fit under the cap somehow. Rule of 51 and other stuff gets in the way for me to understand well enough though.

IOWs I don't know which is why I put a ? there. If you're right then good. Take as many as possible as long as they have at least a shot at the PS.

CB isn't flying under the radar. When you've got three good ones, it's not going to be a position you want to take with your first pick.

I dont think we'll pick there, Jerry will find someone hes enamored with in round 1 and wont be able to resist the urge to trade up.

Knowing what has occured already in the off season... Using the best available player theory... U have 7 guys rated about the same.. Not caring about the names just the positions.. They are WR, OLB, FS,NT,OG,OT and MLB... Who would you pick to improve this team?
NT...w/ a bullet!

OL or DL.

While everyone is talking about the need for a S, we're neglecting the OL in the draft almost completely.

They haven't even drafted a decent Olineman since Gurode 7 years ago. With Flo's age and how critical his position is, you've got to look at OT, unless they think Davis can move, and then they'd need OG.

Our OL is getting old and we have exactly zero up and comers ready to play. That doesn't bode well for having a long run as a contender.

Im all for drafting an Offensive guard but I think you guys will be very pleased with Montrae Holland this season.

When he was in there last year he was moving people when he got locked on.

I don't see any way Kosier beats him out.

I wouldn't take shots at Jerry for boneheaded drafting and not listening to his scouts.

If you're still whining about his past mistakes than you havent been keeping up.

I think we have to go big in this spot.. Offensive line or Defensive line .. Games are won in the trenches.. We have plenty of players in the skilled positions.. Draft smart and tough football players that have the basics down. Tackling and Blocking.

No not whining at all, just saying Jerry has some ammo this year and I dont think we'll stay put in round 2.
