the Cowboys are not favorites obviously so if we win a Super Bowl it will be a Giant like-fluke...so what are the keys to victory?

There are no keys to a fluke super bowl season, that's the point.

And say we do win it all this year,i wouldnt say its a fluke, it'd be a long overdue win

Yup.

Add an odd officiating call or 3 in our favor into the mix, and maybe some 'fluke' injuries to players on other teams as well. (Although I suppose that could be classified under "Luck" ;) )

Stay healthy.

Get two of Church/Johnson/Wilcox/Allen to play at a high level.

Get at least 3 of Frederick/Parnell/Livings/Bernie/Leary/Arkin/FA pick up to play at a high level.

Have Durant/Holloman/Magee emerge as a starter of worth.

Get 3 of Crawford/Price/Lissemore/Calloway/Wilber/Bass emerge as DL rotation players

Play smart, win the turnover ratio, avoid injuries and catch some lucky bounces/breaks.

Wouldn't hurt if the O-line gelled early either.

TO differential, baby. So we add playmakers to defensive secondary and address the pass protection for the interior OL while giving Tony options in the passing game.

And red zone production, which is why you draft a 6'6" TE.

Health, effective run game to take pressure off Romo, top 5 defense.

Why would it be a fluke....then most SB winners are flukes...

Acts of God, like shutting your eyes and throwing the ball deep and it eventually ends up in your receivers hands.

In the 8 playoff games that made up their two most recent championship runs, the Giants were involved in 5 games that were decided by 4 points or less.

In those 5 close games, the Giants fumbled the ball 10 times.

They recovered 9.

If, instead of 9 recoveries, they only get 5 (a perfectly normal result) that gives them an additional 4 turnovers in those five games that they won by 4 points or less.

Do they still win them all?

The Steelers have historically benefited from favorable officiating calls that probably gave them 2-3 more Super Bowl wins than they deserved. We will never get that. Jerry Jones is the new Al Davis and Goodell is the new Pete Rozelle.

The Giants got a ton of calls in that Championship game against the 49ers two years ago. If the refs don't completely blow the Bradshaw fumble call at the end of regulation they also have one less championship trophy.

I'm not sure there are any such things as a fluke Super Bowl win. You have to defeat 3 or 4 playoff teams to win a Super Bowl championship. That's too much to be coincidence.

I agree. This is an issue that needs much more attention.

think about is for a second.....

it is not just luck, it is "sustained luck" over 4-5 games and often you are overcoming "other lucky teams" that "are also hot"

SF had to get over a hot seattle team
Baltimore had to get over hot Denver and 49ers teams

the common theme that often gets ignored is that all these teams that supposedly "got lucky" have very very good GMs and excellent HCs..... coughlin, mccarthy, harbaugh, payton

some good coaches may not win SBs but in recent years, bad coaches dont win SBs

point is.. even though these teams "got lucky" they had the ingredients to sustain it (a team build by a good GM and great coaching)

we have a HC who is not even a competent OC
and i wont even start about the GM

that is why we "never seem to get hot"

the "fluke wins" are not really "fluke wins" if you are actually willing to look

the fault dear brutus is not in our stars but in ourselves
