So what potential impact could this have on the roster?

We'll all hope & pray that Keith is back before the end of the season. However, it's pretty realistic that he's not going to be playing for the first few games. Any ideas on how the roster could be impacted? Who gets put in to cover for him?

He's an above average special team player and a below average safety. Honestly I don't think that's hard to replace.

Not to sound cold, but he wasnt going to start, or even be 2nd string by midseason in all likelyhood

It means Coleman will be the starting FS and Berriault should be a lock to make the team.

For all we know, he could be out of the hospital in 2 days, and working out in a week??? Way to early to say.

hey, i'm a big fan of B myself, but he sounds like a huge question mark to make the team.

we gotta see how that knee holds up.

I don't think so either.

We would miss his special teams play far more than his play at FS.

Considering 1 athlete in all of sports has ever played again after that type of procedure(and that was hockey) i'd say Berry-O has his worjk cut out.

If reports are accurate and he is recovering, I feel his career could very well be over. I'm still waiting to hear about possible longterm effects of the head wound. Keith's life could be greatly impacted, depending on the severity.

Certainly, prayers go out the kid makes a full recovery from this.

People were saying the same thing about Big Ben in the hours after his accident. I saw him on ESPN yesterday, and it didn't even look like he'd been hurt. I hope KD gets as lucky and comes out of this clean.

I don't think it's premature. I don't mean any disrespect to Keith. I'm sure it's the same question any coach asks the minute any player gets hurt, no matter how minor. Realistically, it's the same question (tho they may not want to admit it) that the Bengals are still asking themselves, that the Steelers undoubtadly were asking themselves, that the Iggles may still be asking themselves (we don't know how McNabb is going to come back off his injuries yet). I hope we see Keith back on the field very soon.

Talk about putting the horse before the cart. The final 53 man roster is 2 freakin months from now.

Sometimes opportunities present themselves at the worst times. Regardless of how long Davis will be out due to injury, this is a prime opportunity for Watkins to prove to his doubters that he was drafted way too low. He will have to show Parcells that he is the prime candidate during training camp and that means that he'll have to do everything lights out to overcome Coleman's experience factor. I have a feeling that he can do it, but it's how much confidence that he instills in Parcells which will be the key.
