I'm surprised with "reality" shows on the TV there is still an audience for these scripted soaps. Even my ex-wife got bored and she was loved her show.

The ones I don't understand are those game shows. Do people really not have anything more entertaining to do in 2017 than watch some schoolteacher try to guess which box the money is in?

Well they have brought the
" GONG SHOW" back on and I think it's Quality television entertainment of the highest order,,,:lmao:
Seriously, if you've not seen any of them yet, you should, I' ve only caught one airing due to my exhausting itinerary of doing nothing, and let me tell you Mr. Cat fondu, it was well worth it taking the time away from my schedule to do soo_O

It always blows my mind that soap operas are so popular. They're so atrocious with asinine plot lines and terrible acting. I cannot imagine wasting my time watching that crap. I worked in a place where we had a break room and some people would put on soap operas. I tell you, that was a cringe fest. I would walk into the break room to find some absurd interaction between two people about who was cheating with whom and who was conniving with whom and … blech. I don't get the appeal. Does anyone get it?

It's cheese... pure unadulterated cheese... and when I say cheese.... I don't mean the good stuff... I mean....

My mom watched them. She called them her "stories". She said she really only watched them for their fashion ideas. Seriously. God rest her soul.

I work from home and have pretty much for the past 20 years. My wife watches the Young and the Ruthless and says she has watched it since it came on back in 1920 or whenver it was. . Records those suckers too in case she misses one. And the reason she watches them? For the fashion ideas. I think it is something women learn early on to say so they dont have to defend the stupidy of teh story lines and horrible acting. They have characters come back from the dead more often than Jon Snow has.

My mom too. Calls them "stories" :)

Some of those actors had lifetime on those "soap operas"

Steve Hardy is a fictional character from the ABC soap opera General Hospital. Former Major League Baseball infielder John Beradino originated the role of Steve Hardy on the show's April 1, 1963, premiere, portraying the character for 33 years until taken ill[1] and last appearing on April 23, 1996.

Used to love soap operas. But it is about being rich, sleeping with other people, getting pregnant, amnesia, not just in the daytime but in the prime time. Got way too old.
