Then just stop listening to him.
Done.. years ago. But everyday there's a thread on cowboyszone headlined with "Jerry...." and I just chuckle.

I just move to ignore cause all it means is I don't wanna hear them whine.
My advice is that no one should hold their breath. Some of his most ardent detractors will witness his passing one day and will proceed to live out the rest of their lives clueless about Jones' rhetoric. One of these days, fans will learn that Jerry talks out of both sides of his mouth.
I love this board. We argue about Jerry. We argue why we should or should not argue about Jerry.
We argue about why that matters or doesn't.
It's what we do. Internet argue.
I disagree with what you said, but it was very well said, and I'll probably quote it, though likely never use it.

I posted this deep in another thread, but felt it worthy of its own thread and discussion.
One of these days, fans will learn that Jerry talks out of both sides of his mouth. To be clear, I like Jerry "the Owner" but have not been a fan of Jerry "the GM" for a long time. That said, Jerry continues to say one thing and then contradict it later, either with other statements or with his actions. He does this because 1) it keeps the Cowboys in the news and 2) it makes him right no matter how the outcome turns out. The reason I mention this is that it appears some fans still do not recognize this. They will say they do, but then post comments that state just the opposite. Jerry wants to be right and the best way to be right between two options is to choose one and "almost" choose the second.
Just a day or two ago we heard how Jerry loves Garrett and cannot imagine him not being our head coach next season. Yet, his actions state otherwise. If he truly believed Garrett was "the Guy", Garrett would have a new contract extension already. The fact that Garrett does not have an extension should tell you all you need to know. We all know Jerry loves Garrett for a variety of debatable reasons and publicly, Jerry is going to support Garrett because 1) it's the smart business/marketing thing to do and 2) if the Cowboys have a break out year he wants to be "right" about not only hiring Garrett but also sticking with him when a lot of fans and the media have wanted Garrett gone for 1-2 years now.
Another example is the "Did not/almost did draft Johnny Manziel" comments he's made since the draft. The Cowboys did not draft him, and right after the draft, Jerry and Co. stated in interview after interview how we made the smart decision based on our team needs. More recently, he has been prodded in interviews to drop more "Jerry-isms" and Jerry being Jerry, he's been more than willing to do just that. He stated that he almost picked Manziel. Another example of talking out of both sides of his mouth. He chose option #1 (Martin), but "almost" chose option #2 (Manziel). If Manziel has a great year, Jerry "almost" drafted him and "probably should have trusted his judgement rather than someone else's".
With the history of questionable Jerry "the GM" decisions behind him, Jerry needs a big win. The best way to get a big win is to be proven right on something where a majority of people (fans, media, etc.) disagree with him. If Garrett does well this season, Jerry gets to hold his head high and say "I told you so". If Garrett does poorly this season, he will hire someone else and the noise produced by the "We told you so" crowd about Garrett will be muffled and forgotten soon after the new hire.
I just wish that he'd shut up and be a great owner. Cowboy fans would love him if he just did that.

What a leader.
I've stayed away from many of these Jerry debates, but what you just wrote, if true , is one of the biggest indictments against him I have read.
I would rather hold out hope that he is just a tad goofy and inarticulate than know he is deviously calculated and would rather find any angle to look good versus look bad and succeed for the greater good.
I was more on the "Good owner", "bad GM". I overlooked the illogical conclusion that you can be a good owner and keep a bad GM and tried to put a bow on it with "he tries, he spends"...but maybe it is as simple @Risen Star makes it out.

lmao you had to tag your idol?
I tagged you a couple of days ago on a COmment I thought you made that was insigtful... So that's the company you're in.
But if you wanna go the rounds on a debate, be my guest. I'll be your huckleberry. Your topic. I bow to no one
TOMBSTONE is one of my favorite movies! Great reference.
This applies to many other people (such as Terrell Owens) as well as Jerry - why do you crave constant attention?
I was not brought up to believe the Universe revolves around me and just don't understand those wanting that kind of attention.
Besides, it would be tiring to have people all around you for anything - or nothing.
