Deone Walker, Kentucky

6'6 345+ behemoth with the ability to play all across the line. Very Vita Vea'ish. No matter where we will draft, we will likely have to trade up. He will be worth it

Mason Graham, Michigan

Another big DT. Not a behemoth like Walker, but a solid 6'3 320 pounds. Gives me Alim McNeal vibes as a player that can both anchor and penetrate

Tyleik Williams, OSU

Yet another big DT. Excellent run defender, who has development traits as a pass rusher. Could have a Payne like trajectory where he is good pocket pusher early, and develops as a true rusher after a few years. Dont know that he is as versatile as Walker and Graham, but should be a day 1 pick.

Walter Nolan, Ole Miss

Probably the best 3T in the draft. Still a little raw, but good enough now for an early impact. Could see him having an Ed Oliver trajectory

Others

Kenneth Grant, Michigan. Good prospect like likely a NT/1T only

Dontay Corleone, Cincinnati. Probably a NT/1T only prospect like Grant, but I dont know if he has as much pass rush upside

Tyler Onyedim, Iowa State. Not as a good a prospect as Nolan, but could be a strong pass rushing 3T in the NFL

Yea I think that top 4 is basically the first-round prospects, though sold less on Williams than the others.

Either way, should get a day 1 contributor in the first couple of rounds.

So, if Walker is a top 10-12 pick, I assume Graham is a top 15-18 pick?

Seems about right. Most places have Graham as the #1 DT now, but Walker will pass him. I think Walker goes anywhere from 6 to 12. Graham should go somewhere in the middle of the 1st

I think the question with Williams is will he ever be a real pass rusher or just a pocket pusher. He'll he stout against the run, but you dont drop a 1st on just that.

If they really want a DT, I think it may come down to Williams or Nolan. If thats the case, whatever defensive system we run will weigh heavily on that.

Eh, Javon Kinlaw went after Derrick Brown.

I think it should be the rusher, regardless of the system.

I think Walker is more solid player than Kinlaw was. Although it wasnt until March/April where people really started to question Kinlaw's technique. The same things could pop up with Walker

So I looked up Walker's counting stats. As a sophomore, he had 13 TFLs and 7 sacks. That's first-round production when you rack it up against the SEC, and when you marry it to Walker's physical gifts, the sky looks like the limit for him.

This year, though, it looks like he has 2 TFLs and 0.5 sacks through half a season. That's marginal production, downright Mazi-ish if you project it over a full season.

Does anyone have an explanation for the falloff? I get that Walker's an NT, I get that he draws a lot of OL attention, but I'd still be expecting such a talented guy to make some plays.

he was very visible against Alabama; did not get much in the way of stats but the announcers a couple of times mentioned he was causing trouble

I am double dipping at DT because we are so crappy there now. Go with a big one early and then come back in the middle rounds with someone like Howard Cross. Go Mason Graham early and then come back with someone like Cross later and boom pair them with Odi and Mazi and now you might have a decent rotation.
