We started off by going to the new stadium on Friday (as well as Deely plaza, no pics) This thing is monstrous. It's going to be a real show place.

Disclaimer: Me or my friend are not great photographers so I apologize upfront.

Check out the hail damage on the red car in the foreground! They were golf ball to baseball size dents.

We stayed at the embassy suites and made all the arrangements through the Cowboys Corral. They are a great organization and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to take in a home game for the Cowboys. They were first class all the way and a great bunch of people. Cowboydan, one of our fellow Zoners works for them and I'm sure he can give info but here is their website.

We had an absolute blast and it was a trip I will never forget.

The stadium pics are awesome.

Preston Pearson, now there was a guy who on 3rd down you almost prayed would get the ball. He was money in the bank.

Nice pics. Thank you.

Oh Hos, btw, on Monday when we went for the stadium tour it was pouring rain, as you can see but I wasn't going to let that stop me from heading out on to the field and play around. There was a good size group of folks out there and everyone was trying to kick Field Goals so in honor of you I took my turn. I was the first one to nail it, dead center from 35 yards. I know how much you love kickers and my first thought, I wish Hos was here! :D

Very nice, Cajun!

You should have taken a picture in front of Mat McBriar's locker.

Hos.... man are you right about him. I can still remember as a kid just crossing my fingers for them to get a first down, but at the same time kinda feeling it was a done deal (getting the 1st down) cause Preston was on the field. hehe Memories....

Thanks for the Pics Cajun!! Glad you had a good time.

Why is that, are you a big fan of punters?

(Though I he is one of our best players position for position)

That's awesome - congrats. Still waiting for my first trip. I think I'll hold out for the new stadium since it's so close to being done.

Where did you meet Canty?

The Cowboys Corral had this package deal and they had Canty, Miles Austin, Sam Hurd and Kevin Burnett in for a signing. They had arranged it through Preston Pearson. Funny thing was when I was talking to Hurd, I asked him since Glenn was out and he was going to get some action, would he promise me he would get a TD the next night and he said, yeah, at least one. At least the guy keeps his word. :laugh2:

Man, go before they get out of the old stadium. Some of the regulars who go all the time will tell you it's run down and all that stuff, but honestly, there is so much history that smacks you in the face the first time you walk in, you don't really notice it. I am so glad I did this finally. Worth every penny. I am 99% sure I am doing it again next year as well.

What are the top 3 things (besides the game) that you did while in Dallas that you would recommend? My wife and I are headed there for the NE game! Anyone else have any recommendations???

If you are into history, do Deely plaza and the sixth floor museum. It is really eerie to be in the same place Oswald was when he shot Kennedy and walk the grassy knoll.

I would also not miss out on taking the stadium tour. I would do it again tomorrow. Great sense of history.

I would also make sure that you got to go to the new Stadium, especially while it's under construction. As you can see in the pics, it is a colossal structure. Really is a marvel. Especially when you know what it will look like when it's done.

BTW, regarding the new stadium, the way it looks with how they are laying out the seating, it looks like there will not be a bad seat in the place. Just an observation from the ground of an unfinished stadium.

Thank you Cajun! Any good places to eat???

We had a barbecue at the Circle R Ranch. It was really good. All you wanted as well. As you can tell from the pics, I wanted a lot.:

We ate at Dave and Busters on Friday night, but the rest of the time was pretty well planned out.

Great pictures. Thanks for posting. If anybody goes out there in December, take some pics of the new stadium and post so we can all keep up to date. Hard to believe that 2 years from Sunday night's opening game, our Cowboys will play in their new stadium. Sure would be nice if we won the SB that year.
