Buckner-1.gif

Looks like he is a 5 technique but look at that swim. Don't know anything about the guard he may be terrible. But big men don't often look that smooth with speed type moves. Also has great feet get his 3 steps in before making contact which is text book

That was just about the worst technique I have seen from a guard. Buckner set up wide and the guard jumped inside.

Watched three of his games and I have to disagree I mean he was DPOY in his conference. I do admitt only watched 3 of his games on film and other random highlight/clips.
Not a great sample size so there is a chance I haven't seen the bad tape. This guy makes your line versatile allows us to go heavy to stop run but lose much in pass rush department. Then slide him inside and he is day one best interior pass rusher. I know they can't really count on Gregory but if back gives the, three very different types of DE to exploit teams weakness. He would be the perfect SDE to pair with a Sam who could blitz from time to time.

Run DE Lawrence, Buckner
DT Crawford, new guy

Pass DE Gregory, Lawrence
DT Buckner , Crawford

He scored a 9 on the Wonderlic. We don't need any more stupid players. We have too many already.

Bruh he's playing dline not corner or safety QB WR stop the run go get the QB.. its not hard to learn technique if you want to

Skip Bosa and Buckner at 4, this draft is loaded with DL talent and some 1st round type talent will almost assuredly be there in the 2nd. Give me Ramsey, Zeke in a trade down, or Jack in that order.

EDIT: That's assuming Wentz gets taken 2nd to CLE, otherwise Ramsey and Wentz are a toss up IMO. As you can tell I'm higher on Ramsey than most on this site.

I have been reading that the Titans are pretty high on Ramsey and are leaning on making him the first pick. That could mean Ramsey, Wentz, Tunsil go off the board with the first three picks.

I've been pretty anti-Buckner from the beginning but the more I read of him, the more he intrigues me a bit at the 4th pick or in a trade down.

Someone talk some sense into me.

Can't talk sense into you b/c I am now thinking Noah Spence.

This is why people have to be careful when looking at college film. The top guys all look like All-Stars because they are excellent athletes for the most part. But many times they are going up against future burger flippers and encyclopedia salesman (they still exist!).

You might get 1 play a year like that in the NFL. A miscommunication along the o-line or an incorrect line call by the center.

It'd be interesting to have him and Irving blocking out the sun to the QB's right...although blinding sun is one of our few advantages at AT&T.

Hey, maybe add Oakman later on too. We won't get to the QB so much but the QB won't be able to see downfield either. :p

Man, that is brutal. I said two months ago he should be our guy, but after hearing he scored a 9.....NO.
