Dude I am so sorry. I forget sometimes that all of us fans haven't lived through the greatness together. I forget that the new fans only know this losing feeling. I can tell you one thing it's electric. When we were back in the SB's in the 90's the metroplex was electric! Everybody was in a good mood, and Bill Bates would hold these pep rallies at his ranch for all fans and it was something else!

I am beyond envious of all who were able to experience the glory years firsthand. I'm not sure why I was late (relatively speaking) getting into football. I was born in 1984, so I certainly would have been old enough to remember all the 90's Super Bowls. I mean I do remember my dad yelling at the TV every once in a while (in celebration...."GO EMMITT!!!!!!"), and we'd have Super Bowl parties and all that, but for whatever reason I just couldn't be bothered with football until around age 11 or 12. But as soon as I got that Cowboys itch, it progressed to hardcore fandom very quickly.

To know that I could have experienced those years if I'd only gotten into sports sooner... I was so close, but no cigar. It's a little frustrating, but I'm certain we'll get there again soon enough. Oh well, at least I can say that the Cowboys have at least won Super Bowls during my lifetime. :)

There's something about this year. The cumulation of "things" or lack of a better word.

This really feels like we are there. Just kick the door in and take it!

I think it's our time, everything is just different. I really think 50 is ours.

Thinking that we are winning it seems more real than thinking we might not win it.

I guess a lot of it will depend on whether or not our options at RB actually pan out

You see... That's the thing... There is no jinx... Certainly not from little old me in New York creating this thread. Telling everyone verbally to, " get mad now. Sb50 is ours"...

Whats the worst that can happen?? They break balls like they do anyways.... Lol.... It's win win for me!

But if they win... And you aren't a cowboys fan.... It's best that you stay away.... I will be unbearable!!! Lol

Let me tell.... When we lost to lions in 1991... It was ok. You could see we were about to peak as a team!

Going in to sb27. I had zero doubt. Then going in and winning 52-17 was awesome and relieving. No cold sweats!

Was a little nervous about sb28. They changed it up and it was only one week between title game and SB.

After back to back.... I was intolerable!! Lol

Then... The devating loss of jimmy and NFC title game to niners. I was In shock. If I think about it today... I go in to shock all over again. Lol

And then.... We get Green Bay in NFC title game. I was ecstatic. Felt we couldn't lose to Favre....well... Because we didn't.

Then rematch of 70s vs steelers in SBXXX.
Yes, revenge!!
We come out string in first half... Then it's like the clock struck midnight.

We survived SBXXX thanks to Neil and Larry.

Great, great times!!

Let's do it again!!

Just gave you a little personal experience! :)

My mindset is not like a lot of cowboys fans but... At the same time.... This mindset does exist. We are the dallas cowboys! We are football royalty. Cowboys winning Super Bowl once is bigger than most franchises winning it multiple times.

Other teams fans have a hard time enjoying their teams success because no matter how good or bad the cowboys are.... If you notice.... They can't get the cowboys off their mind... Can't stop talking ably them. My explanation for why that is??

Simple. They know that one day... The boys will be back... They dread that!

I remember saying to myself... Just win SBXXX and I won't ask for anymore. Ha!
20 years payment is payment enough.

Give me 50!! ;-)

Here's a little more.

There is a nfl films. I think it's steve sabol.

It documents the cowboys rise up until winning sb27.

It ends with him saying something like, "the cowboys won super bowl 27 In convincing fashion... Letting the whole world know that...

"NEXT YEARS CHAMPIONS WERE HERE A YEAR EARLY"

Gave me chills like when watching a Rocky movie lol

I loved this bit from the article:

Jimmy Johnson said:
"We will win the ballgame," Johnson said. "And you can put it in three-inch headlines. We will win the ballgame."

The Los Angeles Times said:
The Dallas Morning News put Johnson's guarantee in half-inch type at the top of the front page of the newspaper Friday morning, right there next to the headline: "Whitewater case counsel expects to grill Clintons."

And Johnson was disappointed.

Jimmy Johnson said:
"I think we would have gotten three-inch headlines if the story had been on the sports page," he said. "Maybe we got three-inch headlines in San Francisco."

:lmao2:

Trust me I watched those games firsthand and they were awesome.

There are other team fan bases with the same feeling.

Your right lol I've seen Commanders and jets fans thinking they have a shot at the sb lol. No no they dont. I bet a ton more do to. But in reality dallas does have a shot. Only teams that worry me are the Seahawks and the packers. Also dallas beating themselves.
