Something I Miss In This Team

I want to see a little George Teague from someone. I'd like to see someone shut Brandon Jacobs up next year when he opens his festering gob about the Cowboys. I'd like to see some guy who celebrates a 1st down get the taste knocked out of his mouth.

I'd like to see a player who looks at that magnificent new stadium and sends the message to the other teams that you will not come in our house and disrespect us.

I think that the most frustrating thing for me the last few years has been the Mike Furrey breaking the star incident a couple of years ago. I think someone should have rang his bell.

The toughest player on this team in terms of making someone pay is probably Marion Barber and I love his smashmouth, stiff arm from hell style. If we could clone any player my vote would be him. If everyone gave his kind of effort we would be a great team. Not a good team, a great one.

Teague wasn't here for our great teams, so why do I want someone like him? It's real simple. I want someone who has pride in winning. I want someone who is an enforcer. Truth be told I want a Cliff Harris even more than a George Teague. If Owens had pulled that crap when Harris was playing I don't believe he'd have left the field under his own power. I'd put money on that.

Losing that last game at Texas Stadium has stuck in my craw all off season. Far more than the 44-6 season finale in Philly. It just seems to me that what this team could really use is someone who takes stuff just a little bit personal. Maybe a Kevin Gogan who would fight at the mere suggestion of a disagreement. Columbo has a little of that. I'd love it if he amped it up a notch or four.

It's a new house. There needs to be a new attitude. One that says, disrespect us in any way, and you will not like the way we make you pay.

Couldn't agree more. I want that nasty streak.

Sick of our "nice guys" getting pushed around.

I honestly wouldn't mind it if I saw Columbo snap Tuck's leg.

these overpaid babies (all teams) share agents, marketing reps, etc. & will play on several teams in their career. their primary concern is getting paid well.

in short they don't care nearly as much as you do.

you'll have to come to terms with that as Jerry's new BigTop is gonna be more of the SOS.

Yeah we have a little of that in Columbo, it's nice to see him get into it sometimes, and Barber exudes it too. It'd definitely be nice to see that on the rise this year, they should be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

though money is very important, I dont believe your statments are true.

the league just doesnt want the enforcers anymore. Like hostile said they used to be safeties. Now look at the safeties in the league, they are thick wide receivers.

Offense, offense and offense. That is why the biggest mouths on nearly every team and the ones that talk and talk and talk on most teams are offensive players, they have the advantage.

It used to be linebackers were the crazy men because they could be, now wr can say whatever they want about whoever they want because players will get flags thrown for everything, then get fined and suspended without pay.

Its one of the things I enjoy about the nhl. It is a league that is trying to be offense offense offense but at the same time they wont touch the enforcers the way the nfl has the defensive players. If you showboat in the nhl, for the most part you had better be able to protect yourself, you will get your teeth kicked in and the guy who did it will get 5 minutes in the box and will come back out and kick your remaining teeth in if you do it again.

In the nfl we have Buffalo bill, joe horn and ocho idiot taunting and dancing and selfishly promoting themselves in a game that takes 22 men at all times to play. Its ridiculous.

I am all for safety and I am all for fun, but sharpies and high stepping like sanders should get you your teeth kicked in. But it doesnt because it cant, if they allowed it the sport would be viewed as even more violent, then giving it a negative cloud then probably hurting revenues from advertising at some point.

anyway, back to the original point, I would also like to see someone kick any member of the giants face in, on the field. We have plenty of guys who can but will they, I dont know. Jacobs threw a ball off the playclock in the handicap section in the playoff game last year just like furrey did and no one did anything. If they had they would have penalized causing bad field position.

and on the flip side, the build up to the lions game in 07 was about kitnas comments, then when the game started and ware slammed him on his back to send a message he get a penalty and a fine....so it has to be hard to uphold this stuff as a player.

I think if any one has that "this is our house" mentality its B. James or Ware. Both are friendly people but when they step on to the field they become possesed for the next 3 hours

and congrats on 68k posts my friend

you care more than any player on the cowboys.

sorry, but that is the fact when push comes to shove. fans care more (which is silly but why the term fan fits).

when push comes to shove they sleep like well-fed-babies and have their bank accounts full & large pensions... life-long security if they avoid self-destructive behavior.

OTOH most fans lack all that plus the accolades & praises too (these NFL losers get praised for being in the NFL even if they're on a 0-16 team)

players (in the NFLPA) won't ever break ranks. even if their agents let them they just won't... they feel no need.

You guys have alot of pent up anger. Such violent language. I don’t care about George Teagues or any Cowboy players taking cheap shots at other players. I would rather George Teague play defense and stop TO from scoring at will. I want the Cowboys to stop killing themselves with dumb penalties and mental errors. If they do that then they dont have to defend against the loud mouths. Id rather players learn to make a tackle, hold onto the ball, make a block, run the right route, than have to “defend the Star”. Make plays and win the game, that will defend it just fine for me.

Roy Williams was that guy at one time and once he got paid, he stopped being that guy. There was no one that brought more fear to another team during his first 3 years in the league, then RW. We need a few Erik Williams, Mark Tuinei and Charles Haley's....what we have presently is just a bunch of nice guys that are happy to be playing football. You need an entire team that wants to win and watch each other's back more than talking to reports behind your team mates back. I doubt Cliff Harris would even want to play on this team, the sight of guys loafing on assignments and not knowing their where hey are supposed to be lined up would sicken him...

Not anger, but like this team the last few years, a good case of apathy...

I became a big T.O. fan during his first year here when I saw how much he cared. For better or for worse, he's gone.

Keith Davis had plenty of Teague in him, I believe, but he wasn't starter material. He's gone.

Marc Colombo has some of it in him. But we need it from a skill position guy.

I'm hoping Igor Olshansky has some in him. His reputation would suggest that he does.

Bradie James is another guy who might have some degree of it in him.
