Hope he feels better.

Oh yeah next day he was wanting to go out and play basketball. Told him he has to wait until he gets the stitches out.

You could use that as an object lesson on golf and the proper way to replace a divot.

Glad he's okay.

What kind of bat was used? Spiked variety?

Make sure you tell him "chicks dig scars".

I was expecting to see a lacerated chin.

I have a huge flap of skin hanging off my chin and you could see the bone as a youth due to the same type of thing as your son.

Got 10 stitches to get it all back together and still have a scar hidden under my scruffy beard.

Good to hear he was ok, he is lucky as it could have been much worse considering where he was hit.

Oww. That is gonna be one hell of a scar.

Probably the worst injury I got as a kid was when I was about 13. We lived near a tennis club and the neighborhood had hills everywhere. The club had a hill in front of it, but half of the hill was sectioned off by cables so kids wouldn't drive up it on the weekends. I go up the hill with my bike on the part not sectioned off and decided to go down it where the cables were. I didn't see the cables until it was too late. I fly off my bike and land on my face, with my legs going almost over my head. I couldn't move for 10 seconds and thought I was paralyzed. I had a busted lip that took a while to heal. I hobbled back home and we got my bike out of the road shortly after. No scars, but I hurt my back on the job later on and I think that played a factor.

The worst thing I did was when I was 4 or 5, before I started school, I was playing in the dirt with a steak knife and stabbed myself in between the 2nd and 3rd toes. My mom said all she heard from me was an ouch and then I hopped inside with blood pouring from my foot. She almost passed out when she saw the blood then took me to the ER.

No broken bones just that and a lot of scrapped up knees from jumping ramps on my bike.

Wow, heavyg. That looks more like a bullet wound than a injury caused by a baseball bat. I hope the little guy heals up quick.

I was hit above the left eye with a baseball bat when I was a kid. We were playing baseball, and I was catcher. My friend hits the ball, takes off running to first base, and throws the bat..... right at me. It was a deep cut, and blood everywhere. I have a nice scar right along the outter tip of my left eyebrow, and wraps around the outter edge of my eye. As a matter of fact, my left eyebrow is shorter than the right, but looks longer because of the scar.

Yeah they say head wounds bleed really bad and sometimes look worse than what they are. However, this was a really deep wound. But he seems ok. He is having some pain today at the wound site and slight headaches. Gonna make an appointment with his regular doctor in the morning and have her check him out

I can testify to that. My pit drug me down a flight a of stairs, don't ask, and I ended up with about 8 stitches in the back of my head.

Yes head injuries can bleed pretty bad. I have had 4 separate times I have had to have stitches to the head. (no brain damage for the wise guys:laugh2: )

I imagine your little man had at least a mild concussion from the looks of those pictures.

Best thing about all of it is probably that he is so young. Seems like we heal faster as kids.

Yikes!!

I was involved in an accident several years ago at the I-35/Woodall Rogers split in down town Dallas that involved me in my Nissan truck, an 18 wheeler and another car. It was raining cats and dogs when all the sudden a car in the far left lane zipped across five lanes to make the Woodall Rogers exit on the left cutting off me, the 18 wheeler and the other car causing a three way accident.

I escaped uninjured. The woman in the car was not so lucky. She ended up going head on with the 18 wheeler. I jumped out of my truck and ran to her imediately only to find her half conscious with a giant gash to her head all the way to the skull.

The car that cause the accident never stopped and was not caught. Not sure they even knew they caused the accident. It shut down I-35 for a few hours.
