That's true unless the Cowboys defense can't stop the Lions passing attack that ranks 5th. If we get behind that will take the Cowboys away from the run and force Romo to have to air it to keep up. The Cowboys rank 8th in passing and when you match up 2 very productive passers that can lead to a shootout. Both the Cowboys and Lions have struggled against the pass.

You never want to abandon the run you have to keep the defense honest and keep Suh and Fairley from pinning their ears back coming after Romo but if the Cowboys defense can't keep Detroit out of the endzone this game could turn into a shootout. The strength of both teams is their passing attacks and both the Cowboys and Lions rank near the bottom of the league against the pass.
