Sorry to hear guys. Injuries are terrible and even though most of you would love to see RG3 tear his knee up again, I never want to see anyone suffer from a serious injury. My condolences. Time for the next guy to step up. Season isn't over because of 1 guy.

Thanks for the condolences. I don't think most people would like to see RG3 injured. Not cool. :(

Hopefully Cowboy love does not mean anyone wants an opponent injured. That's just wrong in every way.

There's no way of knowing that. He's had more than his share of problems but torn ACLs are not wear and tear items. Each injury is a separate instance. These comments about him breaking down etc are not medically sound. They often use cadaver or tendon transplant to repair these injuries so you can't even make the argument some are due to 'weak' tissues.

There were red flags galore about Lee when the Cowboys drafted him. A lot of NFL team looked at him as a major injury risk. Here are some of the scout / NFL GM comments about Sean Lee from 2010 draft:

“I love him as a player,” one NFL GM said, “He can coach your whole defense. But he’s slight [6-2, 236], so durability is an issue. I’m not sure he can last on the inside in this league.”

“Helluva player,” said an NFL defensive coordinator, “but those knees are a concern.”

He’s better than either Connor or Posluszny,” an NFL personnel director said, “He has great hands and great instincts. But we have medical concerns. I wish he was stouter.”

“He’s the best linebacker in this draft,” another NFL defensive coordinator said. “But can he stay on the field for you?”

It looks like these guys were dead-on accurate in their assessment.

Most of us were sympathetic when RGIII-and-out went down. He never should have been in that game in the first place.

We also like the idea of him in your starting lineup for purely selfish reasons. Also, I'd always rather beat a team with both of us at full strength. Injuries play too big of a deciding role in the league right now. It stinks.

They sure were.

Yeah, they 'knew' a player with a knee injury would get another one. They are freakin' geniuses.

Ask them where they got their medical degree then how many scopes and/or repairs they have done. Then name all the players in the last ten years who had a knee injury in college who had one or more further knee injuries in the pros. Then how many of those played MLB then how many of them had careers greater than the average draftee who ended up playing snaps at the Mike. Then we can both talk about facts rather than anecdotal evidence. Not being rude if it 'types' that way either. Just making a point.

I wasn't trying to be scientific -- I was just stating what we already knew -- there were a whole bunch of injury concerns as well as concerns about his size/frame when Lee came out of Penn State and they ultimately came to pass.

I refuse to ding the Cowboys front-office on taking the chance that his college injuries were a blip -- his talent was worth it.

"Is he going to get injured again."

The good thing is its not MCL/PCL. 8-12 month recovery, and he'll be ready to go next summer for OTAs/camp with a stronger knee.

Agreed. He'll undoubtably be on the roster come this time next year and all we can do is collectively hope that he comes back stronger and healthy.

Don't get me wrong. I will never cheer for the guy. Will actively root against him.

But I'd never root for him to get hurt.

It's hugely disappointing. I was really excited to watch him. He's one of my favorite players to watch.

I know this is only a game. There are far more important things in life. But damn if I an not really down about this....

Mine as well. He's a great player. It definitely sucks, but I think he'll come back ready to go next summer.

I do, however, think he probably needs to go "less hard" in order to reduce strain on his body. Gotta learn when to go full speed and when not to.

Every player with a prior ACL esp when they have a torn MCL and/or meniscus gets the same treatment. Orthopedics continues to get better with techniques and rehabilitation yet some are stuck in the past with regards to this issue. If the knee is unstable afterwards, the patient is dysfunctional, there is nerve damage, and/or the cartilage cannot be repaired then that is one story. If the repair is a good one and the knee can be rehabbed normally then chances are it will be stronger than the other knee. In fact you must be careful to balance both lower extremities when rehabbing. Those rehab guys use multiple modalities to measure the mechanics and function of the knee during the course of rehabbing it. And of course the patient hopefully tells you everything is 'good'.

You have injuries like Marcus Lattimore or McGahee and then you have the 'routine' ACLs. Don't get me wrong. Any tear is not to be taken lightly or for granted but most of the time you get a good repair esp if that's what the surgeon does all the time. Not always though.

Didn't he have the exact same injury in college?
