As we all know, Hamlin's contract was for 1 year at $2.5M. Spagnola on his show at DC.com that I heard on Monday said Hamlin received less then $500,000 SB and some portions of the rest of the $2.5M he must earn thru his play--I presume Spagnola means number of starts, etc. So actually it appears Hamlin could get even less if he didn't play well. Anyway, according to Spagnola (and which we all assumed anyway) since not a lot of money involved the door is still open for Watkins to come on or even that we might still draft a FS.

This isn't earthshaking info but interesting for how little we paid to get him. Apparently per Spagnola it probably due to Seattle getting rid of some of their problems (read Stevens, etc) but not necessary meaning Hamlin but probably only because he got hurt at a night club. Also concern about his injury and ramifications suspect not only in Seattle but maybe elsewhere in the NFL. Jerry got us insurance for few bucks but it would hold us back if other decisions must be made.

Sounds like a good contract. Also sounds like he might have some lingering injuries with his melon which is a red flag. A headache one day turns into a stroke the next. Always protect your melon, I wear a helmet 24/7 covered in tin foil. :bang2:
