this is really a critical need to find a good coach here...if we have a killer offense and defense but they get negated by poor special teams play we have gained nothing from last year...not just good punter of kicker either, the whole punt and kickoff units need to be top notch.
can't think of any good coaches left out there, I wonder who Wade has in mind?......anyone else have some thoughts on all this?

If I remember correctly Chicago hasn't resigned their ST coach.

I thought I read an article today posted here that Dehaven was Wades ST coach in Buffalo, during the music city miracle. He's gone now, but thought it was ironic.

More than that -- Wade fired him after the miracle -- a lot of folks though that was kinda of BS scapegoating of DeHaven -- you shouldn't lose your job over some crazy fluke play.

he is probably going to stay with Chicago from what I can gather...plus...having a guy like Hester kind of screws any analysis since the player is off the scale and can make the entire special teams group look good... it goes the same way for Jim Caldwell of the Colts, of course, having Peyton as QB who is like a coach on the field can make a guy like that look genius.

In defense of Chicago's Dave Toub ... he also turned Robbie Gould and Brendan Ayanbadejo into Pro Bowlers, and the Bears had the best kickoff coverage unit in the NFL (not to mention the top overall special teams unit) in the NFL, according to FootballOutsiders.com.

Yes and it's even worse when the play shouldn't have counted. I am still convinced it was a forward pass.

we would probably have to offer Taub an amount we know the Bears would absolutely be opposed to since they are bad enough with head coaches and Asst Coaches...but you get what you pay for and JJ would probably open up the check book....but---can he move laterally like that just for a pay increase or do we have to give him an Assistant title to be legit?
