I really hope not, but our Special Teams have me worried.

1. As of right now Cortez is kicking. UGH!

2. Our coverage units have been shabby at best. Darren Sproles is a dangerous little sucker who is returning Kicks and Punts. I know Sproles has not done it on the NFL level, but for those who have not seen him, he is lightning in a bottle.

Lets just hope are coverage units are better than the pre-season.

This will be a classic match up of 2 old time coaches with the same smash mouth philosophy.

Jones vs LT.

Both playing the 3-4 with a defensive mind set and stopping the run.

Mistake free football!

Field Position!

Time of possesion!

Special Teams could be huge in this game.

The entire game is dependant on whether Drew Brees has truly made the turn.

I expect respectable rushing yards from both offenses. Despite their defenses.

Should be a great week one game.

Champ, I have similar worries. After watching the complete Jacksonville game last night, I am not real happy with our tackling on punt and kickoff returns. We are getting gouged pretty good for returns.

Luckly their ST sucks too.

So it may come down to who sucks less on game day.

I think we really under estimated the value of coaching ST.

We didn't worry about this area of the team when Joe Avezzano was here.

I just don't see the wild and crazy desire to make tackles with this group.

WIth San Diego speed this could put us down 7-0 with the open kickoff.

This years ST coverage is the worse I can recall. I hope they get it turned around quickly or we will be on our heels all season.

I have to admit ST could be our Achiles Heel this year. The STs have not been very good since DeHaven arrived. May be time for a change in coaches next year...at least it is looking that way so far.

France, who was released by the Bucs a couple of days ago, is still unsigned.

Why in the world haven't we brought Todd France in for a look? He's gotta be better than Cortez. It's not a question of if, but when will Cortez cost us a game?

I also find it hard to believe Parcells isn't jumping up and down over our shaky ST play in preseason. Our coverage units have sucked. The return game did look a little better against Jax though.

As much as BP puts on ST being an important part of hte game, I'm suprised we're so dang aweful at it. Seems like everytime it comes down to keeping this guy over that guy, it's because he can play STs, but we still suck at it.
