we all know the problems we had with our offense this year and all the ideas on how to fix it...and the defensive problems as well....
but we really should excel next year in st...BP always said football is a game of field position and look at how we suffered this year with the likes of Bruce Read and losing McBriar early on
so next year ....imagine an innovative new st coach in Camillis
added to the likes of McB back with a supporting cast the likes of Keith Davis, Watkins, Polk, etc....
I really think that part of the game will be the shining star for next year

No offense, but excuse me if I don't buy into any offseason or preseason projections of success for this team. Admittedly, in the past I have been optimistic, in general, regarding all things Cowboys. Not any more. I will only believe it when I actually see it. This past year's severe underperformance (relative to what most of us expected coming into the season), combined with Jones' unwillingness to make any significant changes following that abortion of a season have hardened me to the point that I will no longer have any bit of optimism until I get the proof. Jerry's gonna have to SHOW ME from now on. I'm tired of the garbage we've been given for the past 13 years!

I agree.

And it's also very encouraging to me that the players we specifically brought in for special teams late in the year (Polk, Battle, and Octavien) all performed well and looked like tough, aggressive players. That shows we know what to look for. Now we just need to add a few more of those with more talent in the draft, and I think we will.

The players didn't get better. But with a new coach who is capable, the roster could be churned so that the new players could be better. And that's what's exciting about this coaching change.

I agree that improvement in ST play is necessary and likely. I'm hoping the biggest turnaround comes in the form of improved turnover ratio, though. Especially QB fumbles.
