Looks like coverage teams are hit and miss. Sometimes they give the returner no where to run and other times there is a big hole. I think they miss Copper right now. No, I am not saying it was a mistake to let Copper go, but he was very good at covering punts and kicks for Dallas. It makes a difference when you lose a top notch guy on special teams. His young replacements have not stepped up yet. That and since there are so many young guys, the coverage teams have not gelled. Hopefully they not only get better in special teams, but they also become solid contributors to the offense. Perhaps not this season, but in the future. That is something Copper never going to achieve.

I was surprised that Dallas had Hurd, Austin and Green active in a game. Who would thought that Parcells would have 5 receivers active in one game and hybrid Green as well? Maybe Bill thought they could get up big early and get them lots of mop up time.

Agree that it's vry surprising Hurd, Austin & Green were active. Think Parcells is looking for Copper's successor on STs. But while I didn't see the game here in Florida, understand Hurd did get on the field and even made a pretty good catch. So I'm also thinking he really likes both Hurd & Austin's WR potential. But it also says a lot about Carpenter's ST play--needs to really improve to get off Parcells' list of guys who not good ST players. Also think Carpenter just taking more time like so many other of our younger players did (James) who then turned it up. Wish those who insist on calling Carpenter a bust after only 5 NFL games could lighten up for a little while on him. When he really starts playing well, then these same guys might even have the guts to come in and say he's surprised them by playing well--but again there's that old saying that if you've not been with me at the start then get out of the way.
