For those living in Central Texas tonight, there is an AWESOME lightning storm tonight...

Completely silent but awesome nonetheless...

It looks like the main activity is near the airport and Del Valle... really cool...

I live in Georgia, we had one like that about 3 years ago. Strikes every 3-4 seconds, but no sound. It was amazing, the room turned completely white several times because of the strikes. We were at my parents on a screened in patio just hanging out and watching it. It was amazing. Nobody said a word for several minutes as we just looked outside in astonishment. It was very cool.

Weird time of year for lightning isn't it?

Serious question. Don't live in Texas.

I thought you were talking about the Baylor game, but that isn't until Saturday.

I caught it when it was still west of town. Definitely brought some cooler weather.

No, it isn't that weird. A front came through and mixed with the hot air. It was in the 90s earlier in the week, which is typical for later September.

Thanks, man.

We had some tornado warnings here which was weird for this time of year.

Just was curious if the weather was different for this time of year elsewhere.

Pattern type of gig with warm air which we've had...........thanks again.

That was the fastest moving cool front I have ever seen roll through Houston last night. All in an hours time, we had thunder, lighting, tropical storm winds and very hard rain. Came in about 2am and was done by 3, I sat on the back deck and watched it, now we have a small lake in the backyard!

Yeah, it started here around 3am, and ended around 5 or so. I slept through most of it, but it was according to my son, who was awake through the whole thing, a pretty awesome lightening show. He said it was mostly sheet lightening, as opposed to cloud to ground strikes. He is a weather guy. We got about an inch of rain in it all. No damages here, but backyard was soaked with standing water. I heard it was really bad up North of us, though. I'm sorry for that. Never like to hear that people or animals died. :(
