Just saw on NFL Live on ESPN, the analyst thinks we should get him cause we can get him cheap and he creates pressure and pushes the pocket even though he is not getting sacks. I didn't really watch any games with him playing, was he any good ? Does this make any sense?

I'm sure we could do better with a guy with two functional hands

You know what they say, "what doesn't take your hand completely off only makes it strong".

To bad in the old days he could of clubbed the QB's in the head and he would have been a good pick up. :D

I can't think of a bigger sign of desperation than signing him. Two years ago they dragged seven sacks out of George Selvie and now they want Hellboy rushing the passer? Come on, you're better than this.

To answer the question, yes....he looked very good for a guy fresh off injury. He was still too much for many OTs to handle 1-1. Is he a budding super star who will get 15 sacks each year? No way.

But he would walk on the field as our best DE....period.

And yet, "Hellboy" had 24 pressures in 8 games. More than any of our DE's had combined.

JPP, despite not having the sacks, was a monster. Let's also not overlook the 6 pass deflections he had. He's a bit of a meme now, but he's a stud.

I'll take my chances with Lawrence, and later in the season Gregory (as of now green) for that title.

Not sure if I'd want him. But dallas needs a big name DT and DE this offseason.

You have to give JPP a hand for coming back from his injury so quickly. If JPP came over it would really burn the NYG fans. They would be giving him the finger every time he came on the field. :muttley:

If he's cheaper than Hardy, sure, I'd kick the tires.

He was actually pretty damn good when he came back .

If the price makes sense, I see no reason why not. We need more than 2 pass rushing DE's (only one of which actually has a NFL sack).

If we go into the season with only Lawrence as our established pass rushing DE, I think we will be disappointed. No rock should be left unturned to find a value in selecting a suitable replacement for Hardy (assuming he doesn't resign).

I'm for it if he is willing to take an incentive based deal.

Need someone to give real competition to Gregory/D-Law.
Depth at DE never hurts.

For a one year prove it type deal I would sign him. He played pretty dang good when he came back and for a one year deal you might get a deal in him
I wouldn't sign a long term big money deal with him having Gregory and Dlaw but he sure would be a nice guy to bring in and rotate with those guys
Having said that I think someone pays him pretty good money because like him or not he came back strong from his injury and was a pretty dominate player for them

This was what Ryan Clark thinks the Cowboys should do. Don't see this as Speculation. Just a commentator's opinion.
