The #1 TE and #2 TE are basically different positions. Escobar could be the top backup to Witten as the #1 TE but not be the top #2 TE.
Trading Leary, Romo, McFadden.......is there a new NFL policy that says no team, under any circumstance, can have significant quality depth?
I mean dang, just as soon as we discover that the team has two good players ar the same position, some folks can't wait to toss one of them out . Considering the devastation created by a plague of injuries over the past few years I would think Cowboy fans would be a tad clingy towards the team's talent pool.
I think that a TE, more than any other skill player, has to depend on a QB's willingness to utilize them. I think its a more special relationship because QB 's depend on them in tight spots. They have to be really familiar with a QB's style. Romo's guy was always Witten.
Troy Aikman really depended on Jay Novacek.
Dak has to find his guy. Apparently it isnt going to be Escobar. It could very well be that part of Osweillers struggles has to do with not having that dependable emergency go to guy.
I would make Houston pay, a 5th or maybe even a 4th would be my price.

Every trade thread is "nothing to see here" unless it's actually being discussed by the two teams involved.I'm seeing the usual suspects applying the typical "nothing to see here people!" routines.
Some people can take both the good and the bad, while some people can't.

I was under the impression this was a trade Escobar to Houston thread.Actually, we're referring to the fact that Escobar is a bust rather than the possible trade talk. Some people can accept that fact, while others still can't.

A guy down in South AmericaWho's Escobar?
Escobar seems to be hiding in the jungles of Columbia with his namesake. LOL
He's truly the forgotten man in this offense.
I agree, but I can see how the problem developed. Years ago there was a constant stream of people claiming inside info and would try to use it in arguments. Much of it was obvious fantasy.
Not his fault.
While playing the #2 TE position.Swaim still has more targets and catches than Escobar.
I'm not a big fan either. Way overrated to meClowney is trash. I said it before the draft, and I'll say it now. I wouldn't trust this guy with the game on the line. He just doesn't have the heart to play football, not one that matches his tremendous skill set.
very trueSwaim still has more targets and catches than Escobar.
