Speculation: San Francisco will trade for the #1 pick

I think San Francisco will trade for the number 1 pick, because they need a QB and they will be thinking we will choose a QB. So, trading for the number 1 pick will give them the choice of Jared Goff or Patrick Lynch. I think they will choose Jared Goff the hometown kid. Then Cleveland will choose Patrick Lynch. Then San Diego will choose the best player available, which I think will be Joey Bosa. Now, comes the question. What will we do stay at the 4th pick and choose who or trade down and choose who?

Who's Patrick Lynch? Also don't see SF trading up from #7 to #1. Look what St. Louis gave up for RG3 to move up to #2. Now if Cleveland passes on Goff than I can see them possibly trying to trade with SD at #3.

San Francisco has so many holes I will spit out my beer in riotous laughter if they do that. That team is as talent devoid as any team in the NFL. It's embarrassing.

The number one overall is worth at least 2 #7s. They would have to send next year's 1 and a bunch of picks including the 2 and 3.

This could actually happen on April 28th...I would see who wants to move up for Tunsil (probably the safest pick in this draft) since Dallas is not in need of a LT. Tenn would have the 7th pick and likely would be hoping to land Tunsil after picking up picks. If there is a trade partner not too far down then Dallas can go Wentz (depending on evaluations after the Senior Bowl, Combine and Pro Day) or Elliott or possibly DT (Robinson or Nkemdiche). Wouldn't rule out LB either.

Edit: Add Treadwell to the list too...

If SF chose Chip as coach, doesn't Kaepernick fit what he's looking for?

That front office would have a ton of work to do to repair that bridge. it's burned beyond recognition right now. Last I heard, Hue Jackson was the front runner, though.

I don't see anyone in this draft worth trading up to #1. Some mocks have Goff going in the mid first round. It is hard to sort out the top 10 to 15 players in this draft. There is a good probability that the mid or late first rounders will be just as good and maybe even better than the top ten players picked.

Is Tunsil head and shoulders better than ND's Stanley or a few other OTs?
Is Treadwell so much better than Coleman or Fuller or Doctson?
Is Elliot so much better than the other RBs?
Is Goff head and shoulders better than Lynch, Wentz, Cook, etc?
Is AL DT/DE Robinson so much better than Shaq Lawson or Calhoun?

This draft is tough this year. It is also a deep draft with good players available in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds. Those 2nd and 3rd round picks are gold. I think a lot of teams are just going to sit tight and let the draft come to them. I would expect few early trades, if any.

SF isn't trading up to #1, write that in big bold letters if you want, but it isn't happening. The cost would be too much considering their numerous holes on both sides of the ball. This is a team that over the course of the last year has had their starting QB regress a ton (CKaepernick), their starting RB (FGore) left via free agency, their starting TE (VDavis) stopped being productive, they lost 2 very good o-linemen (ADavis and MIupati), their best d-lineman retired (JSmith) and they lost 2 pro-bowl caliber LBers (ASmith, Pwillis).

This is not a team that can afford to give up a future #1, let alone a #2 this year to move to #1, on top of that Tennessee will have very little interest in moving down that far. It's possible, that SF can trade with SD to move to #3, but even then, I just can not see them parting with the picks that would be required to make that move.

Goff is the #1 QB IMO. It's very possible SF does that trade
The value chart at 1 over all is 3000
the 7th slot is 1500 so they would need next year's 1
plus a pick to be determined.
Browns will take the next best QB Wentz IMO
Dallas gets Lynch, my choice

I would hate that scenario personally - but I'd go with Treadwell ( or if they really like Wentz - then go with him )

Titans are notorious for not trading, the Eagles offered 3 first round picks for the #2 pick last year and they said no

Don't see SF offering up that type of deal. All indications are they will take Tunsul

It really is. Two and three years ago, their roster was loaded. Especially their defense.

Is Tunsil head and shoulders better than ND's Stanley or a few other OTs? - I think so, but Stanley will prolly go top-ten too.
Is Treadwell so much better than Coleman or Fuller or Doctson? - As a difference maker, yes. I like Coleman's speed opposite Dez, though.
Is Elliot so much better than the other RBs? - YES.
Is Goff head and shoulders better than Lynch, Wentz, Cook, etc? - Cook, etc, yes. Lynch/Wentz, depends who ya ask. I like him better. Both may also go top 10.
Is AL DT/DE Robinson so much better than Shaq Lawson or Calhoun? - Dunno. I like Nkemdiche of all the DL..

That is what I heard on Bay Area sports radio this morning and if he is hired, the thought is that he might keep Kapernick. Kirk Morrison was on the show and reported that he is excellent coach in the 1 yr he was at Oakland. His team was 8-8 and according to Morrison, they should have made the playoffs that year.
