No, can't see it happening. Think about all the draft pick they would loose as a result. I can see them try to get to 3 if one of the QBs are still there.
Who's Patrick Lynch? Also don't see SF trading up from #7 to #1. Look what St. Louis gave up for RG3 to move up to #2. Now if Cleveland passes on Goff than I can see them possibly trying to trade with SD at #3.
We all know what you meant, but St. Louis gave up nothing but their #2 pick. Washington is the team that gave St. Louis a King's Ransom.
That is what I heard on Bay Area sports radio this morning and if he is hired, the thought is that he might keep Kapernick. Kirk Morrison was on the show and reported that he is excellent coach in the 1 yr he was at Oakland. His team was 8-8 and according to Morrison, they should have made the playoffs that year.
I think he is a hell of a coach. The question is, Baalke and York pull their heads out of their *****?
I agree. He is one hell of a coach. York made the wrong decision in getting rid Harbough and not Baalke. Imo
And then they benched Kaep for Gabbert, when Kaep is still learning how to play and playing in a brand new offense. Nothing they have done in the past two years as a front office makes any sense.
Yeah. Our front office might not be great but it is much better than San Fran.
Cleveland's front office is better than San Francisco's.
I think San Francisco will trade for the number 1 pick, because they need a QB and they will be thinking we will choose a QB. So, trading for the number 1 pick will give them the choice of Jared Goff or Patrick Lynch. I think they will choose Jared Goff the hometown kid. Then Cleveland will choose Patrick Lynch. Then San Diego will choose the best player available, which I think will be Joey Bosa. Now, comes the question. What will we do stay at the 4th pick and choose who or trade down and choose who?
What would be more interesting is that Cleveland got Goff and Lynch is on board at #4 for us and SF wants him badly. What would they offer? What would we accept seeing it is a small trade down to where we very much want to be?
curve ball
titans take tunsil
browns actually hire a gm and take wentz
chargers take boss or Ramsey
we are on the clock and goff is there.49ers offer us a 1st n 2nd this year and a 1st next year.
lynch is sat there when we pick at 7
happy days
Two firsts and a second?! I would have to shut it down. I would be so terrified this team would botch those good fortunes.
just need to hire Kevin Costner as gm
I don't see anyone in this draft worth trading up to #1. Some mocks have Goff going in the mid first round. It is hard to sort out the top 10 to 15 players in this draft. There is a good probability that the mid or late first rounders will be just as good and maybe even better than the top ten players picked.
Is Tunsil head and shoulders better than ND's Stanley or a few other OTs?
Is Treadwell so much better than Coleman or Fuller or Doctson?
Is Elliot so much better than the other RBs?
Is Goff head and shoulders better than Lynch, Wentz, Cook, etc?
Is AL DT/DE Robinson so much better than Shaq Lawson or Calhoun?
This draft is tough this year. It is also a deep draft with good players available in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds. Those 2nd and 3rd round picks are gold. I think a lot of teams are just going to sit tight and let the draft come to them. I would expect few early trades, if any.
Lets just put this all out because it doesn't seem to be outlined in full yet, only mentioned here. The Commanders went from 6 to 2 and it cost them that years 1st, 2 future 1sts and that years 2nd. SF is 1 pick lower and Tennessee is 1 pick higher ao it would be at least that expensive and likely more.
SF is not getting up there for less than 3 total 1sts and probably at least 2 2nds. The NFL is so fluid, teams can't depend on getting the same value from next years 1st as this years. Even from Cleveland(see our trade with them a while back). This is why teams generally value future picks 1 Rd lower than they actually are, and picks 2 years out likely get penalized even worse on the chart. The QBs in this draft are good prospects, but if you're giving up 3 total 1st, 2 2nds and maybe some more picks for a QB, they better damn well know they're the next P. Manning. Because if a team as devoid of talent as SF is misses on that QB, they've just screwed their franchise for the next 5+ years and maybe even more.
Even a trade up with SD became more unlikely with that last win from SF. Now there's 2 big factors affecting the trade.
1. SF would probably have to either give up a future 1st and this years 2nd, or their 1st, 2nd and 3rd this year. Depends on how hard it is to convince SD to move down.
2. Will SD even want to to trade down now? When SF was at 5, SD could drop to 5 behind the Cowboys, pick up some extra picks and still get the OT they want whether its Tunsil or Stanley. Now they would have to drop into the 2nd tier of prospects, below Baltimore who will happily take Tunsil or Stanley. In order to convince SD to do this, SF may have to overpay. Not a smart thing for a team devoid of talent in so many areas.
The best thing SF could do IMO, is to bring in a coach who they think can get the most out of Kaepernick and trade down for Wentz. That team could use all the extra picks it can.
What would be more interesting is that Cleveland got Goff and Lynch is on board at #4 for us and SF wants him badly. What would they offer? What would we accept seeing it is a small trade down to where we very much want to be?
