I saw this in an NFL draft forum, and thought it would be worth posting here. Split the above average starters into the following tiers:
Elite - All-Pro candidate
Very good - Pro-Bowl candidate
Good - Above average starter

Here's mine. I'm purposely being conservative when close. But how incredible is our talent?

Also, I'm not sure if I can link to other forums, but Google "How does your teams roster split in tiers?" if interested in seeing how fans think other teams stack up.

Elite:
Martin - OG
Frederick - C
Smith - OT
Bailey - K

Very Good:
Zeke - RB
Dez - WR
Lee - LB
Romo - QB (Let's not make it about this)

Good:
Dak - QB (and this)
Jones - FS/SLOT
Claiborne - CB
Beasley - SLOT
Lawrence - DE
Leary - OG
Collins - OG

I guess just because Zeek is a rookie your dropping him a grade.
Jones I would think is very good anyway

You weren't lying about going conservative. I'm pretty sure Claiborne is gonna make the pro bowl this year, Jones as well so I would bump both of them up a tier.

I wouldn't be opposed to bumping Leary and Beasley up a tier too.

And Witten where are you old man?

Zeke is leading the league in rushing while David Johnson, who is second, has played one more game. He's definitely an all-pro candidate, IMO.

Without nit-picking specific evaluations I sure agree with your point that this team has built up an exceptional core. It is interesting that you left off Hall-of-famer Jason Witten...though in fairness he's not the same athlete he was 6 or 8 years ago.

There isn't much in the front 7, however...and we likely won't enjoy the luxury of keeping Leary and Claiborne...so can't really view them as core moving forward.

Claiborne isn't going anywhere

Witten and Carr get a lot of hate here, but they're both above average starters.

La'El isn't above average to me. He was flat out terrible vs. NYG. We're 6-0 if Leary starts that game.

I agree
But I do think we have a good shot at keeping mo but we shall see. Overall we have a talented roster but we need to build the front 7 in this years draft

I disagree that Carr and Witten are above average starters.

As for Collins - that was one game. And based on that one game, none of our linemen are elite. But he was an above average starter last year, IMO, and I expect him to be that when he returns.

Carr has been rock solid this year, but doesn't get the credit he deserves because fans can't overlook that 50 million dollar contract. Very quickly went from overrated to underrated by this fanbase.

The TE position in the league isn't very strong right now. Blocking has regressed, but he still consistently beats man coverage and can find soft spots in a zone in his sleep.

Collins was highly inconsistent last year. His pass blocking is below average. His on-field production hasn't earned him an above average label.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

Carr's been the weak link in a passing defense that has featured Church, Wilcox, and a rookie. He's an average #2 CB in this league; nothing more.

Witten is a poor blocker now, sadly. He's above average as a receiver - I'll give you that. If you want to call him above average, I've not no real issue with that.

Collins was inconsistent, sure, but he was dominant at times as well.

OPOY candidate, if not MVP.
