Why is there an explanation needed? The stats you posted don't indicate whether or not someone is a good safety.

Isn't Bigby one of the most penalized safeties in the league?
As Football Outsiders put it:

Bigby has plus speed and great range, but if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be in the NFL, because he can’t cover, has an awful feel for zones in the passing game, and draws penalties at a Gallerian rate.
I have no idea what a "Gallerian rate" is, but it sounds bad.

My guess is Robert.

You should change your name back to what it was. Or at least something that describes you more aptly. I have a few ideas.

You are spinning bro.

You said he was one of the worst in the league, yet he put up better numbers than Roy.

Like I said, he's no Ronnie Lott. But he isn't just downright awful because if that's the case then Roy was downright dreadful.

Wait. What's worse, dreadful or awful? lol.

One stat in that scenario. Int's and it's only because Newman can't catch.

Now explain why Bigby has like 4 better than Roy.

Next.

You don't seem to get it. The "better numbers" you posted DO NOT indicate one way or another as to whether someone is a better safety.

If you're going to analyze this, you might want to start with something a little more accurate than "because Newman can't catch".

Perhaps using the fact that Newman was rarely thrown at, or that he doesn't turn well when defending deep balls over his head would merit people taking you a little more seriously while referencing Williams vs. Bigby. Maybe not. It's your call.

Average INTs per season:
Roy Williams - 3.2
Atari Bigby - 1.7

Look at that. Nearly double.

Ok. More FF, more Int's, more PD and more TFL's.

What am I missing here?

Thanks coach, I will see you at practice. lol.

Roy was better than Bigby last season, you're right.

And Newman didn't make the Pro Bowl until last season because of other issues besides the fact that he doesn't have great interception totals over his career.

HOw about actual coverage statistic? I mean, that's what they do, right? Cover people?

So now we are talking CB's? lol.

I know neither of them can cover their noses when they sneeze.

But I need a SS that can bring the wood and force a fumble or get into the backfield for a TFL/Sack/Disruption every now and then.

The Int's and Passes defended are gravy.

Wow. Do you even make an attempt to understand what other people post, or do you just quote it and type whatever you were already predetermined to say in the first place?

Let me help you.

#1 - I never said Roy was better than Bigby. So that pretty much makes your second sentence useless.

#2 - If you think "Newman can't catch" is a accurate way to analyze a player, than you're beyond help. I never said anything about Newman's pro bowl appearances either, but while we're on the subject, last year wasn't even Newman's best year....and that has little to do with his INT totals...but I suppose we've already realized you can't comprehend that. If you don't want people to take you seriously, you're doing a fine job. Keep up the good work.
