May 25 2009 issue asked 19 ex Cowboys their opinion of the following:

Do you think Tony Romo is the answer at QB?

Yes 14
We'll see 3
No 2

Crawford Kerr: I would draft and develop a QB. Like Parcells says "too comfy"

What current Cowboy would you most want as a teammate?

Demarcus Ware 6
Jason Witten 5.5
Marion Barber 4

Do you think Jerry Jones is making the right moves to bring a title back to Dallas soon?

Yes 7
No 7
Jurys out 5

Dale Hellestrae: He needs to hire a football guy as GM who has some authority and can disagree with Jerry on decisions without fear of being fired.

Ever catch yourself checking out the cheerleaders during a game?

Yes 13
No 4
Who me? 1
Never 1

Are the Cowboys better or worse without Terrell Owens?

Better 17
Worse 1
Too soon to tell 1

Whats the one thing the Cowboys need to become contenders again?

A new coach 4
Leadership 3
Discipline 2.5
Attitude adjustments 2

Tony Dorsett:: "A foot up their butts"
Tom Rafferty: "A heart"
Brock Marion: "Lose the attitude and just play football. We won because we played football. Then the attitude came."
Eric Bjornsen: "A play making reciever without baggage."
Walt Garrison: "It seems like the players are running the team"

Interesting stuff.

The Owens answer was more than a landslide.

I really wish they would publish the names belonging to six of the nineteen respondents.

There's a lot of wisdom here.

Well, Terrell Owens does match the criteria of "ex-Cowboy"...

The only general manager on the planet who doesn't have to fear getting fired by Jerry Jones is Jerry Jones.

Jerry still takes a lot of flack for being GM, but he has evolved over the years and is no longer flying by the seat of his pants.

Jerry doesn't get credit for being a good listener, but he actually is.

If someone can convince him a particular course of action is correct, like not trading up in the second round in '07 for WR James Hardy or releasing Terrell Owens this off-season, Jerry will give in and do what's perceived as best for the team.

Jerry doesn't always have to be right.

I'm guessing
It's not him. If it were, he would thrown out a quote too [strike]idiotic[/strike] spicy for TSN not to publish along with the ex-Cowboys' comments.

Brock Marion said what I have been saying all along. Too many posters feel like the distractions we had in Dallas over the last couple of years are no different then the distraction we had in the 90s. And that is simply NOT true. The off field issues did not occur until AFTER we had won the Super Bowl. We were 1-15 for goodness sake!!!!!! There was no reason to complain about money, touches, lockeroom chemistry etc....

To many guys on this team do not realize we STILL HAVE NOT WON ANYTIHNG...13 Pro Bowlers and 13 wins and a fluke loss (in the mids of the players and coach) to the Giants does not excuse the FACTS that we STILL have not won anything.

I believe your sig illustrates just how incredibly tough both Buehler and Norris really are. After all, how many people could clone a body so indestructible that it could survive both a decapitation AND a head transplant! Even a Kryptonian couldn't pull that off! Awesome!

;) :D
