It's that time of year and here are my top 5 training camp predictions:

1) Mike Mickens will not make the roster but will make the practice squad due to the emergence of Courtney Brown at CB.

2) Kevin Ogletree will become a special teams demon in the preseason, will show just enough in the games at WR, and will finally push Isaiah Stanback and his shoulder off the roster.

3) Stephen Bowen will have one of the best training camps and will make Dallas feel comfortable with letting Marcus Spears leave in free agency next year.

4) Defensive tackle will end up being a position of strength with Junior Siavii emerging, while the linebacker position will be a position of weakness due to Anthony Spencer not having a good camp with nagging injuries. Good thing we drafted Brandon Williams. He will surprise a lot of people.

5) Stephen McGee will have a MUCH better camp than Jon Kitna and will be groomed as the "QB of the future"

Other predictions that just missed the cut: Tony Romo will lose weight, Andre Gurode will high snap from the shotgun formation once every ten snaps, Montrae Holland will be the first player in NFL history to gain more than 20 pounds during training camp, Pat Watkins will cry after getting burnt badly by QB Rudy Carpenter in the wildcat formation, Flozell will have a false start, and Colombo will pancake Barbie at some point!

The Cowboys moved him back to CB in the offseason.
That likely means he'll be moved to 'unemployed' shortly.

Mickens will sit on the practice squad just short of the ink drying on his waver contract.

This kid will not hit the practice squad after training camp and will be with another team if we are really morons and allow him to get away.

Cant say I agree with any of those first 5 to be honest.

I think that will happen, but reports were he played really well in OTAs at cb.

Horrible predictions, in my opinion.

Mickens absolutely makes this roster and will be our 4th CB. He is legit. Moreover, there is no way the guy could ever make the PS. He would never clear waivers.

LB a postion of weakness? We have the best LB corps in the NFL, for christ's sake. And your Spencer prediction is such BS that I can't stomach actually addressing it. Spencer is a stud. If we didn't have Ware, people would realize it. But our short-sighted fans are so spoiled by Ware that if a player is not Ware, then he is a bust. Just abject stupidity.

I honestly wonder what the hell our fans our smoking some times.

Here's my impersonation of this list:

1. WARE WILL BE ON PRACTICE SQUAD LOOKING TO DEVELOP FOR FUTURE.

2. LONG SNAPPER WILL BE POSITION OF STRENGTH BUT OUR RBS WILL BE A WEAKNESS BECAUSE ONE OF THEM WILL HAVE A SORE HAMMY AT SOME POINT. GOOD THING WE DRAFTED BUEHLER SO HE CAN PLAY RB.

3. JESSE HOLLEY WILL HAVE A MUCH BETTER CAMP THAN JASON WITTEN AND BE GROOMED AS OUR #1 RECIEVING TARGET OF THE FUTURE.

4. ALAN BALL WILL HAVE ONE OF THE BEST CAMPS AND ALLOW US TO LET NEWMAN WALK NEXT YEAR AFTER WE SWITCH HIM BACK TO CB.

5. I WILL HUFF MORE PAINT AND TRY TO MAKE SUPRISING PREDICTIONS TO BE CONTROVERSIAL.

Agreed all around. My initial thought was, "Where do I begin?"

I don't really care who does what.Just as long as there is some good ole' competition at all positions of need.Hopefully that will happen,I also wish camp would start already.

One thing I would like to see is a sense of urgency in camp to set the tone for the season, something that has been lacking around these parts for awhile.

I'm just going by what I think will happen. Usually when something is too good to be true, it probably is. I think we're banking too much on Mickens, a CB who played well in OTA's. We really don't know what the guy has. I'm going out on a limb

I think there's more than a nice OTA showing that has fans hopefull about Mickens. The man had a great college career, proven playmaker at Cincy.

Stopped reading at "Mike Mickens will not"

I didn't stop reading, but wished I did. Well, actually a few wouldn't be too bad if they turned out right.

I'm still pulling for Stanback to show us something, but his injury history has me now thinking, if Ogletree, or any other WR shows something more. Then the #5 or #6 WR doesn't really matter who he is. Because that spot will always be a churn spot, and most are interchangeable.

I'm telling you guys, out of DeAngelo Smith and Mike Mickens, one of them will not make the team this year. We got lucky with Scandrick last year but I don't see that happening with Mickens this year. Smith will be our punt return man this year.
