Am I alone in feeling sort of indifferent to this move? The guy will be 31 before the season starts... was totally ineffective in the return game this past season... was deemed unworthy of his salary by Sean Payton in an offense that was equally perfect for him.

Also, the touches he gets come at the expense of McCoy's touches. Sproles is no more dangerous. Obviously it's another element and also protects them in case McCoy goes down, but is 18 touches for McCoy and 7 for Sproles necessarily worse than 25 for McCoy?

They got him for the return game and screen passes.

Nice get for the Eagles.

The gap widens...

What gap? They barely won the division on the last game of the season against a band aid bound together team (us)and that's with a QB playing WAAAAAY over his head most of the season...some of you buy into that eagle hype every year

I thought Sproles was going to be headed to Washington according to rumors. I would have thought Washington or even NYG was a more likely landing spot.

Yup, it's somewhat maddening. I remember the meltdown on this board when the Eagles acquired the "dream team" over one offseason.

This sucks. Honestly.

Though we've had success against Sproles. I just think Kelly is the perfect coach to take advantage of him

Who's in better shape to win the division?

What team got better from last season and what team(s) got worse?

Don't let fandom override your common sense.

They have direction, they have a plan. This move only makes them faster, quicker, and more dangerous in the open field.

Their coach knows what he wants, he knows their strengths and weaknesses, .. and is addressing them.

He knows what he wants to be offensively and what he wants to be defensively.

Piece by piece he is building what he had in college.

I don't know what Sproles gives them that McCoy doesn't.

All I see it doing is cutting McCoy's fantasy value.

The holes are easily identifiable with the Eagles. They can blitz their defense with heavy emphasis in the draft. Their offense is pretty much ready to go except for some possible OL depth.

yea, I seriously doubt that a rotational RB is the last missing piece of their puzzle...their defense is about as bad as ours so what do they do? add a RB which isn't really a need on that team....

Revis to NE, Sproles to Philly. Ware to Denver, etc... Wonder if we will make a more significant acquisition in FA.

I don't see anyone left out there that would be a big impact for us right now. The only move I could see us do is do some kind of trade for another draft pick,as of free agency, I don't think we'll do anything.

I am sure we will get someone with our 5th round pick that is better than Sproles...

The Eagles lost in the first round of the playoffs after barely squeaking in by beating Kyle Orton. They are obviously the reigning division champs, but I don't see anything overly daunting there.
The daunting thing is speed. Something we say we want but do not have.

But I am sure Jeremy Mincey and Terrell McClain will take care of Sproles, Jackson, Maclin, Ertz and Celek.

I agree with this. They were a fraud playoff participant last year and would have gotten smoked in the wild card round if that game was in New Orleans.

I would not be surprised at all if they take a step back in year 2 of Chip Kelly.

I also don't believe in Nick Foles. I don't think I ever will until he's hoisting a Lombardi.

And there aren't nearly as many of those holes as there are with every other team in the division.

Our favorite especially.

And they're also in very good cap shape should they choose to add some free agents.

Unlike a certain other division rival...

Whether some people like it or not, the Eagles are on the upswing while we are on the down swing.

Last season's last game was simply where the two trajectories crossed paths.
