Yep, when you have a bottom tier defense one of the first positions you want to trade a draft pick for is another RB......had Jerry done this same move the board would be stringing up rope as we speak, but since it's the mighty eagles it's the greatest and swiftest move in the history of the NFL

Joseph Randle or Darren Sproles? 5th rd trade is fine

Great, Philly gets the ideal back for their system.. I can see a ton of 2 back sets with Shady and Sproles making LBs crazy on 3rd downs.

Good pick up for them for a 5th.

I wanted Sproles when the Saints got him. At the time I believe the organization stance was Felix could provide what Sproles provides. Of course we know how that turned out. Then they tried to get Dunbar to fill that role...doubt he is the answer either. At the time I believe the organization aslo felt Sproles was not versatile enough..meaning he could not warrant carries. We are just a poorly run operation. Now a fast paced team...adds Sproles to the mix. It is not so much about what his yards per carry or the amount of TDs etc he will provide....when he is on the field...he forces the opposition to defend you differntly. Opening up other parts of your offense. Not to mention he himself is a threat. Barring injury...Sproles will be a problem for the rest of the NFC East.

Looked like more than 3 out there to me. And now that Ware has been released, does that leave us with 2?

Will our QB be better or worse after back surgery?

Yeah, we did inexplicably beat them earlier. Still can't figure out the Foles I saw on that day. But it sure wasn't the guy I saw get the NFL record for touchdown passes in a game.

And apparently, we won't have ANY leaders from that D-line. Good, bad, and ugly.

I will always be a fan, I'm just currently not an optimistic one.

Or one blinding myself to reality.

But thanks for the attempt to cheer me up, I appreciate it.

Just want to mention that YES you are a fan and we look at the glass differently at this stage. I will agree that we have plenty to fix but feel that the boys are the frontrunners in 2014 for the NFC LEAST.

Not sure what to make of this, but a 5th seems like fairly high compensation for a player at this stage of Sproles' career.

Sproles will get snaps with the offense and STs. IMO it was a good trade.

Not a fan of Randle, but a young quick RB who can catch out of the backfield for the next 4 years v. a very talented but declining vet for ~2...one that you might have been able to bring in off the street in a few weeks? It's *only* a 5th rounder, but I still think I'd have taken my chances on the draft or later in VFA.

Especially since it's all over the Saints board that he was going to be released anyway

I like the move for Philly. I think there are only a few teams who could maximize a player like sproles. Obviously a team like New Orleans is on top of the list. Time will tell if chip Kelly can. Odds are though they will find ways to get him in space.

I am very anxious to see what philly does in the draft. They appear to have had two very good drafts. If you have 3 strong drafts in a row, it is tough to screw things up.
