Spurs Dominate Third, Suns helpess to stop them

The San Antonio Spurs outscored the Phoenix Suns 27-11 in the third quarter to come back and take a 2-0 series lead with a 102-96 victory on Tuesday night.

Tim Duncan posted 18 points and 17 rebounds and Manu Ginobili added 32 points off the bench for the Spurs, who made 48% of their shots and turned the ball over just ten times.

Amare Stoudemire had 33 points and 9 rebounds and Shaquille O'Neal tallied 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Suns, who managed just four offensive rebounds and went 4-for-14 from behind the three-point line.

The Suns led by seven at the half, but their rough third quarter hurt them down the stretch. They battled to within six in the final two minutes, but Tony Parker hit a huge jump shot to push the lead to eight and seal the win.

Dantoni has given that team the worst mentality out of all the contenders. did you see some of the post game comments? "they only won because finley stepped up, they only won because we panicked" its like, come on, you lost because the spurs can shut down teams for half a quarter at any given time, its our style.

They have what it takes, just not the mentality. It seems like they gets scared a lot and just freeze. They need consistency. If they had that, they would be almost unstoppable. D'Antoni doesn't help with some of his stupid decisions either, but you can't put it ALL on him for why we lose. They are really letting the pressure get to them.

You just contradicted yourself.......and you proved the other poster correct. If they had what it takes, they would already have the mentality. If they had what it takes, they would find a way to play defense in the paint. They would find a way to get crucial stops, aside from hoping the other team misses its shots.
