I'll be shocked if the Jazz win the series, but they're going to be a tough opponent.

The only reason the Suns series was as competitive was cause, the Spurs choked away game 4. Had the Spurs held on to win that game.....none of the other stuff happens and the Spurs most likely go back to PHX and defeat the Suns in 5.......

SA saw the Nuggets for what they were....FOOLS GOLD

SA once again cause the Suns to set....3rd time in 5 years

The Spurs have a new name "American Pie".....cause they are about to kill the music

GO SPURS GO

Go Jazz. I hope Boozer, Williams, AK47, and Fisher play well.
I would love to see the Jazz win, but I think the Spurs will.

when the spurs knocked out the suns yesterday, they just became (barring a major injury) the 2007 world champions

Just curious - where were you before?

My wife and I were in NY for the past year. I had no access to DirectTV, so we only got six or seven Cowboys games on TV last year. Lots of Giants, Jets, and Eagles games.

Yep, nice to be back.

I think the pistons will have something to say about that. It will be another great finals between these two teams.

the spurs beat them with ben wallace.

why wouldn't they beat them without him?

and i think lebron might have something to say about detroit getting there.

meanwhile, utah is a joke.

And your point is what? Everyone thought losing ben wallace would kill the pistons. Last time i checked ben wallace is sitting home wacthing, meanwhile the pistons are playing in their 5th consecutive ECF. The pistons play just as good a defense as the spurs.

And please don't give the Cavs and lebron to much credit here. They got lucky the bulls lost the last regular season game to the nets, which allowed the cavs to get the number #2 seed. The Cavs have played nobody in the first 2 rounds. Washington was depleted, and the nets are frauds who rely strictly on perimeter jumpers.

The cavs have no inside game, and will be exposed. I dont care what happened last season. The pistons got complacent after going up 2-0 and before they knew it were in a dogfight, but when it was time to turn it on, we saw what the end result was. The pistons will be focused this time and take the cavs out in 5.

I like the Cavs, but I don't see any reason for the Pistons to not handle them this year. Webber was a good pickup after Philly dumped him, and who does Cleveland really have besides LBJ? If Lebron is on, they are competitive. If he takes a night off and just passes the ball around, they lose handily. We'll see how he steps up (or not) this series.

Good win...but I am getting really sick of the late-game runs the Spurs are allowing to make games interesting (or lose them...see game 4 of the Suns series).

It actually reminds me a lot of the Spurs teams of the early 2000's. Those teams, including the championship team, used to drive me crazy by constantly nearly blowing leads (and even blowing leaves sometimes).

oh man i remember that, and the worst part is that it would usually happen against the lakers!! god i hated those teams. but the good thing about it now is that the spurs do it to other teams no matter who they are, thats why i never think the spurs are out of it till the bitter end. Also they usually only allow teams to get back into it when they are REALLY pounding them, what happened in game 4 vs the suns is not very common any more.

I'm sure the Spurs organization celebrated when Shaq was traded to Miami. Since then the Spurs are on pace to win two titles in the last three years, and they would have three total including last year if Ginobili hadn't made that foul in game seven. I don't think they lose to Miami.

I think a lot of that had to do with who they were playing as well... not many teams score points in bunches the way the Suns do. Maybe the Mavs, but that's about it.

Even as the Jazz were "coming back" I wasn't nervous the way I was in the Suns series. Derron Williams is a heck of a player, but he's no Steve Nash yet.

Also, it's nice to have Finley now to take some pressure off the foul shooting at the end of a game. The poor foul shooting was always a major factor in teams being able to mount late comebacks against the Spurs. Now we have Fin and Ginobili's improved, as is Parker.

it was nice, but part of me was sad that the rivalry had been busted. The reason we couldnt break through the lakers from 2000-2002 was because our role players around duncan and robinson kept changing. First it was mario elie, sean elliott, steve kerr, etc. then it was derek anderson, he came in and played good to counter kobe but he decided to leave for portland after his breakout season, biggest mistake of his career. It wasnt till manu came and tony became more comfortable in his second year that we really started to compete on that lever with them in the playoffs again. i think if they would have stayed toguether we would have still won the chip in 05, and you know i think we would have beat the pistons in 04 if it wasnt for .4, that hurts more than the gino foul because we still had a chance to win after that, we had the final possesion and overtime. but we wated our energy coming back from 20+ points.
