SR Bowl Thoughts

IM going to start this by saying Aaron Donald is not going to be a RD1 pick. HE couldnt get off blocks. Like i have been saying, if he doesnt come off the snap clean he is going to be blocked throughout the play on most occasions. I hope he lasts for the Cowboys RD2 pick tho.

Dee Ford is going to be a very good 3-4 LBer at the end of RD1.

I think the coaches did a major disservice to 3 players
Hageman, they played him as SDE most of the game and he did absolutely nothing.
Sam, they did the same thing to him but got some snaps at DE and his sack came as DE too.
Murphy, He can play OLB but his place is with his hand on the ground.

Chris Davis played a great game today. He was a 4-5 RD player before today. I think after today he is a RD3 guy.

Baptiste should be moved to FS and Telvin Smith should be moved to SS.

Carr and Garoppolo played it safe today, opting for short throws. Carr IMO is a RD2 talent but will probably be drafted in RD 1 with teams looking for QB. And Garappolo is probably going RD2.

Taj Boyd probably played himself to a UDFA. He is really bad. Thomas and Morris started off bad but played better as the game went on.

Reid MR. Ivy League played the best out of all the DT today. Bet nobody expected that.

Zack Martin will be a top 15 pick.

Seantrel Henderson probably didnt improve or hurt his stock.

Will Sutton needs to lose weight. He has some passrush ability but his size is limiting him.

North was supposed to have all the DL stars. It was all hype.

I think he will be drafted as a T. Guy can play either side. But will probably be a RT.

Yeah, I haven't seen anyone say anything bad about Donald. If Donald doesn't get drafted in the 1st, then now DL from the senior bowl should be drafted in the 1st.

I guess he also missed where Donald applied pressure and forced a INT

@MockingTheDraft Best players during Senior Bowl practices were Aaron Donald, Zach Martin and Dee Ford. Same during the game.

Come on dude, he had 2 plays the whole game. one was some decent pressure and the other was the play hit forced a bad throw. Theres just a difference between practicing and knowing what the guy in front of you is going to do and a game. Today was just a bad game for him. He couldnt get off blocks. Plain and simple. He didnt hurt his stock, he just got schooled for 95% of the snaps he took today. Atleast be a little objective in your love for him.

I followed the other thread during the entirety of the game. I wasn't able to watch it so I was relying on other people's narration of the game. EVERYONE was saying how unimpressive Donald looked. I don't know how you're saying he's the only one with anything negative to say. From what I was following, the majority of the posters were consistently making posts about Donald's lackluster play. When he finally did make those two good plays, everyone gave him credit for it. From how it sounded to me, Donald didn't live up to the hype. At least not today.

sorry dude, but just because the guy doesn't make a play every snap doesn't mean he had a bad play. I didn't see anything you said there. He held his ground and was doubled most of the game. He made 2 great plays but had pressure alot of the game. Not just me saying that. Bloggingtheboys also tweeted that. Look man you don;t think he is 1st round talent, I do. I have never seen a single player in history that makes a great play every snap. Warren Sapp was stopped several times during games also.

Lol why does the opinions on Donald have to be so extreme. He wasn't great, but he certainly wasn't bad. He's not some dominate force that is a top 15 pick, but he is definitely a disruptive pass rusher who has a bright future ahead of him.

Is that so hard to agree to?

If you go in the Senior Bowl Discussion thread, there are 124 posts. LatinMind did a play-by-play of the game. He followed Donald's play a lot. 95% of the plays he commented on about Donald were negative. He kept saying how Donald was getting stonewalled one-on-one by the center.

I paid alot of attention to him. Because for two things. I think Dallas will draft him if they can, and two i want to see how much inferior competition plays into his stats. Because against top teams like FSU and ND he had little production.

You can tell the south team gameplanned for him too. Because on plays that it looks like he gets pressure its by design. They let him come inside and the play is designed to go behind him. Thats just him being unaware of where the ball is. But there is a constant in this game and its his inability to get off blocks. If when he bullrushes the guy in front of him still desnt get off blocks. He was in posistion to make tackles like 3 or 4 times but he just cant get off the block and the RB goes right by him.

He has good plays in here dont get me wrong, but he;s not as good as his stats say. If he was 6'3 with them skills he would be better than Suh. But with his size he;s going to be limited. Atkins is a mountain of muscle, Donald doesnt look like he can add much weight.

I would be happy if Dallas could trade down to the bottom of RD1 and take him tho.

Great Plays? The play before the one where he forced the bad throw, he had the RB and couldnt tackle him. The pressure is good but he missed the play.

I watched the game. He was in the backfield all game, but his backup sucked.

I did. I think he will go as high as the 3rd round. He will steadily rise on the boards and will take a bigger leap after the combine.

Donald was named the weeks best practice player. Only watched half the game so far but he got into the backfield regularly once he adjusted to the way they were blocking him.

Ford killed it. Constant pressure. That guy may go top 10. Sheesh what a week for that kid.

Btw, quoting a thread of posts by a person who went in biased against Donald means little.
Multiple reports including ones only hours old claim he was one of the biggest risers.

I thought Donald was good.....he was in the backfield quite a bit.

Ford looked good but he's very one-dimensional. It's a great dimension though.

Caraun Reid is going to make some team happy. Love the kid and think Maranelli would too.

Someone dumb told Will Sutton to put on weight. Go back to 285-290 young man.

McCullers sucks. Someone make him a right tackle already.

Whoever think Sam's future in the NFL is at OLB needs to give there head a shake. Looks like a Robert Mathis clone.

Norwood has the makings of a nice #2 receiver.
