The Dallas Cowboys signed wide receiver Lanear Sampson to their practice squad Tuesday. He fills the spot that was formerly held by defensive end Jason Vega before he was signed to the active roster on Friday.
Sampson played in college at Baylor with rookie third round pick Terrance Williams. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted rookie free agent last April and was released on final cuts before the start of the season.
The Cowboys now have eight players on their practice squad.
And we are still running down the rumor that Jancy Briles of the team's public relations department was called in to vouch for Sampson as she did on draft day for Williams.
Briles is the daughter is Baylor coach Art Briles.
