Serious question, what scenario would you prefer if you are Dallas.

    1. There are 3 seconds left on the clock and you need a 20 yard field goal (old extra point) to win a game that is tied.

    2. There is 1 minute and 14 seconds left in the game and you are leading by 7 but you are kicking off and the other team has 2 timeouts left.

I seriously don´t understand why would anyone rather have option 2, ridiculous IMO.
Smart football says, option 1, no matter what, you have a 99% chance of making a 20 yard FG.

This question should be asked to the other team´s HC, I think everybody know´s what his answer would be, that should tell you something.

option one assumes we get a first down because we want it, that didn't work out for us all frigging game.

"hey McFadden, you couldn't convert all game, but this time, don't hit the hole too hard, you momentum might carry you into the endzone, and that would doom us"

in all fairness, we are one game out only because the rest of the division is terrible. We are 4-8, hardly anything to be happy about this season.

You are arguing against reality here because in that particular play Mcfadden did get the first down. And if you watch the play he could've easily laid down before the td. He actualy launches himself to break the plain. Dumb.

Maybe the defensive player allowed him to score on that lunge.

No, it was people aren't happy no matter what this team does or does not do.
Well, some are only happy when we lose.

I don't think you understand what the phrase "throwing someone under the bus" actually means.

It's possible, but I don't think they did. If you watch the play, he gets the first virtualy untouched and then 2 defenders converge on him at about the four, he then goes for the TD.

Thats the "JUMBO FORMATION" !! LOL it is so dumb, I cant believe teams still use it, drives me crazy !!
What that does is yes say WERE RUNNING! INTO THE MIDDLE !! HERE WE COME !! JUMBO TIME !!
Then the defense piles up thier guys several deep, and sometimes they make it back to los or get a first down, but mostly it is no gain or a loss.

I am ok with running, but spread them out !!!!!!!!!!!
and a jump ball to dez would be good, I dont know if cassel should be throwing the short fade, could be a pick 6, but to the corner is ok.

I know , I got a good laugh out of that last nite.

He also said they practice the run but dont score play a lot !!!!!!! lol guess they need to practice some more??

what we wanted to do was play football at that point............ translation is we had no real plan, just play football !!!!!!
if we run out of bounds its football, if we score too quickly its football, if we dont go down at the one its football !!

I think he is saying look we know about all that , but it is too much for me, so we just played football and move forward !
We left too much time up , but so did they so it worked out !!! in a football way.
Jason likes using the word football now, one of his new keywords .

You joke, but managing the clap is no joke.

And, on the topic of the thread....is it me, or is this debate following a win more strident this ween than it usually is? I kind of wanted to enjoy the win here a little bit, since I don't like the matchup going back out on the road after a Monday game and playing a team that's been resting since last Thursday. I was hoping for a bit of peace and quiet, or maybe some jokes about the NFCE in general. Instead, I'm getting Jason-Garrett-Flava-Flav memes and just, generally, bad juju.

    Seriously.

Two is the answer. The odds of winning are the same and I'll take the made hand over the draw, no matter how probable. I'll take the 7 point lead every time over a possible FG attempt. It is really hard to go the length of the field and score a TD in a minute.

Same question but you are losing by one on the FG. Do you still run out the clock and play for the FG.

To me the clock is always secondary when trailing or tied. You can never score too early when losing or tied.

Well the play was designed to go outside, and that is not a smart play to run if you dont want the runner going out of bounds.
also dont run it to the weak side, run it to the strong side with more room to cut upfield, away from sideline, which means in this case
play should have gone to the right.

And the reason people are complaining is not that we won. but that we could have lost very easily by leaving that time on the clock.
What if wash had driven in for a td and gone for 2 and got it and left no time on clock for us to get fg, or it goes to ot and they win.

It was a confused mess on part of both teams, and luckily bailey hit the 54 yd fg.
So on to GB and lets see if we can confuse them too! we want to play football and we think they want to play football too ! lol

Are there actually any left or are they just keeping silent right now? Im sure they will pile out of the woodwork as soon as something goes right for the boys. All but forgetting the horror of this year and his shortcomings. As was on full display at the end of the game last week. What if that was a playoff game? A SB game? Is Garrett the guy you want running the team?

Im not sure that is correct, but they certainly would have had no timeouts instead of two. And it certainly would have been more difficult with only 35 seconds. And lets not forget the other dumb coaching move at the time of the score. Leaving Desean Jackson in single coverage knowing that a long bomb was about the only way you get beat there.

And if they score in 35 seconds then at least Garrett did his job properly. Which he laughably did not.

Do you just blindly agree with everything Garrett does or were you sitting by the TV like the commentators and most fans wondering why we werent kneeling on the ball or running out the clock?
