Jerry Jones said it’s probably “optimistic” to think Sean Lee could return in time to play against the Raiders, and that Morris Claiborne likely did not re-injure the hamstring but instead had a “little bit of a setback.”
Lee is in the third week of what was expected to be a 3-4 week recovery period from a hamstring injury in the Saints game. Claiborne missed the Vikings and Saints game with a hamstring injury from Detroit, returned against the New York Giants but left the game in the second half.
“We think he just basically had a little bit of a setback, which, when you think about it, it isn’t abnormal on the same injury,” Jones said on KRLD 105.3 FM “The Fan” Tuesday. “I don’t know if he’ll be ready. I don’t know – if we think we can play without him, then that gives him a solid two weeks between games. I can’t tell you about that one, either.”
Neither Lee nor Claiborne practiced on Monday.
“Sean’s one of the most optimistic players there has ever been on the Dallas Cowboys,” Jones said. “But that’s probably optimistic.”
