The Cowboys signed seventh-round safety Ahmad Dixon, who missed the first day of the rookie minicamp because of what coach Jason Garrett said is a groin issue.
Dixon is the fourth of the Cowboys’ five seventh-round picks to sign.
Dixon was dressed and on the field for practice as the Cowboys began a two-day rookie minicamp. But he did not have a helmet, and instead just watched the position drills.
He said the injury came from overwork. He said he had not taken more than a handful of days off from training since the start of the college football season last year.
Thursday, the Cowboys signed seventh-round picks Ben Gardner, a defensive end from Stanford, linebacker Will Smith of Texas Tech and cornerback Terrance Mitchell of Oregon.
Ken Bishop, a nose tackle from Northern Illinois, is the remaining unsigned seventh-rounder.
