Very glad to kick off the 2017 season.
IMHO, JJ induction to the HOF is well deserved. From a franchise owners perspective, no one can refute his marketing and business genius. On the other hand, there were many times along the years his over involvement as a GM in the Cowboys operations was reckless, but I NEVER questioned his desire to win and deliver for us fans, just his decisions. Over his tenure......his impact to the game of professional football, whether you like it or not, is profound and he played a significant role to where the NFL has come. Kudos JJ, but we want/need a new Super Bowl trophy. Just saying.....

Super Bowl Trophy is coming... Jerry will deliver. Yes I agree, his induction into the HoF is well deserved. Don't be surprised if JerryWorld is officially named after Jerry someday... Jerry Jones's AT&T stadium.

Just one extra meaningless game that could lead to injury before the regular season.
It gives you one extra game to look at the young players which is what preseason is for so in that sense it's beneficial. Starters don't play much in preseason until the third preseason game and they don't play at all in the last one.

But, yes, the football and the game, as a showcase, are meaningless, just like any other exhibition ... I mean preseason game. I'd rather see a combine of both teams on the field as opposed to some guise of actual football.

... It beats jumping on some maudlin statement to gain cheap points from the lemmings.
But, If you imply your loyalty is more than in some fans, then I infer some inanity is afoot.

to me playing the hallof fame game has no benefits for the cowboys its just another opportunity for players ot get hurt and miss lots of time if they get any kind of pain or cramp in camp they are done until the regular season any way just more opportunities for bad things to happen

I read fine it is not meaningless, it is a chance to watch young ball players to see who may have progressed after a long off season so is it meaningless? In terms of the season yes but in terms young ball players it is important it is their chance to make this team so in my eyes it is not meaningless.
What you call JV? they are young men trying to live the dream not some lame fan who thinks he is funny by coming to a message board making an ars of himself on a daily basis

Yep, heck you learn a lot going to training camp and watching these young guys but after a couple of weeks of camp it allows them to showcase in a game situations. Granted in the reg season it is all about playing as a team, in pre season it is about the individual making a case for himself to make the ball club
