The “Silver and Blue Debut,” the Cowboys’ annual public practice, is from 5:30 to 7:30 on Thursday at AT&T Stadium.
Admission is free, but parking is $10.
Coach Jason Garrett said more than 40 former players are expected, and it is a motivation for practice.
“It’s great to have those guys, to have the history and be a part of it, their own memories. But it’s also good to have our guys be around them,” Garrett said. “I think it’s a positive thing. They’ll be at practice, and then we’ll have a dinner afterwards. Guys will sit down together and hopefully get a chance to visit and talk.”
Garrett smiled when he was asked if he has to tell some of the players who some of the former players are.
“Sometimes you do, yeah,” Garrett said. “Think about when guys were born. A lot of guys on our team were born in the early ’90s. It's amazing, you know. Just part of it, though. Time marches on.
“I do think it's important to tap into some of the history that we have here. We've had some great players who have been part of some great teams. I think it's beneficial to everybody.”
